Why are pitch counts such a big deal when they don't include all the throws to 1b ?

I don't think you put nearly as much stuff on the ball nor strain on the arm. Then again, I'm sure Wilbur Wood (for those who remember) could throw knuckleballs all day and night long until the cows came home so pitch count would be meaningless to him.

That's how Tim Wakefield was here. He could pitch every other day if you needed him to.
 
Lackey with the stare down that only Lackey can give, but he's coming out any way. Breslow in to pitch to Avila, and all goes to plan it will be Breslow/Taz in the 8th and Koji in the 9th.
