You're making it too easy.
1- Jordan was part owner of e Wizards...why would he go back to be Bulls?
2- How old was the mailman when he joined L.A? Yeah it didn't exactly help them vs Detroit.
3- Phillly sucked, along with those horrible uniforms that looked like it was designed by a 5 year old with crayons. Sir Charles went to Phoenix and was the man, and didn't ride shotgun to anyone.
4- Grant was a good player...but no where near a difference maker.
5- The Lakers were a great team...built through the draft and some signings. Scott, magic, worthy, jabbar didn't wake up one morning and say " hey let's all move to L.A ".
6- Even as a free agent prior to his second retirement...Jordan would have never left the bulls. It was his team, his city and he was the face of the NBA.
Let's do this.
1. First of all, he owner a small part of the team, but had to give up ANY ownership...to play. You are PARTIALLY correct.
2. Never said it was successful, I said he it did it to win championships. He could have easily stayed, but wanted to team up with in LA with Kobe and Shaq.. hmmm, sounds like he wanted to pull a LeBron BEFORE LeBron pulled a Lebron.
3. Sir Charles final year DEMANDED a trade because he thought the team sucked, which they...obviously didn't stick around to allow the team to help build around him, so he got what he wanted and didn't 'man up' to win it on his own.
4. They don't win without Grant. PERIOD. Just like they would not win without Pippen. The second Threepeat, they had Rodman and a host of very capable player.
5. The Lakers were a great team. They all were smart in not allowing ANY of their players get a chance of free agency. Bet you didn't know Magic was signed to a 25 year $25 million dollar contract to basically cement him as a Laker forever? Basically killing any free agent chance. Then, when he was getting close to end of that contract...he signed a "Larry Bird exception" to finish his carrer. PURE GENIUS by Buss to avoid free agency all together. Than man KNEW what his value in the open market would be before free agency.
I was part of the network that covered this team as well as the Blackhawks and White Sox. I know what went on with this team in the 90s. ....believe me.
