Well what can I say besides S*** Happens!

Agree letting Welker go was a mistake (Amendola IMO is getting cut before training camp) but no one forsaw AH getting arrested and Gronk missing all but 5 games. Put in a healthy Gronk and Hernandez in yesterday's game and the final score would be different.
Maybe but the reality is you guys got to the championship so I'm not going to put yesterday's loss on injuries when the Broncos had their own to deal with.

By the way I took a few more looks at the Welker talib play and honestly I don't see where he intended to take out your CB. I realize many pat fans look at this through hateful eyes on welker but coming from a person who has no emotional attachment either way I just don't see it. According to many of the Pats players interviewed they feel welker had no intention to take out talib. Besides the fact he has no history of dirty play. Bill belichick seems to be alone on that point of view along with those pat fans who for whatever reason hate welker to where they wish him physical harm. Worse I heard from one of the Pats players is it was a nasty play but doesn't believe welker was looking to take out talib.

I know no one cares my opinion on this but there it is :p :D

Bad officiating was very much present in the 49ers game. The 49ers had a shot in the end and came up short. But to imply that there wasn't bad officiating or that the bad officiating had no impact is simply disingenuous.

Ok please explain to how it affected the outcome of the game?Lynch fumbled the ball right back to SF,so that erased the bad call.It dang sure didn't change the outcome of the game!

If the NFL has any balls, they'd fine/suspend Weasle Welker for injuring Talib during AN ILLEGAL PICK!

Are you serious?Wes Welker, the man that almost didn't make the game from multiple concussions, took out Talib?I don't buy that for one second! No way that was illegal, and BB is way off base making the ridiculous claims that Welker was trying to take Talib out.

I get that neutral observers hate the Patriots- I really do. If I'm honest with myself, I'd hate the Patriots if I was the fan of an opposing team. That being said, the whole "Patriots can't/haven't won a Super Bowl" since spygate is beyond ludicrous. First of all, they won 17 straight games AFTER they got caught "cheating" then they lost the Super Bowl after a one in a billion play (Manning-Tyree) went against them (NOT saying that the Giants didn't deserve to win that game, just using that play as a frame of reference for the "Patriots can't win without cheating" crowd). They lost the second Super Bowl to the Giants after a receiver (Welker) drops a ball that he catches 99 out of 100 times. If Welker catches that ball, it's a first down and the Pats run out the clock. If one or both of those improbable plays don't happen then that beyond stupid theory wouldn't exist. If Patriots haters want to call it karma- I can understand that, but anything else is just silly. That argument reminds me of my brother-in-law who is a HUGE Yankees fan, and a devout Red Sox hater. In the mid 90's he INSISTED that the Red Sox would never win a championship as long as they played in that "little dump" (Fenway Park). He argued that the ballpark was too quirky and the Red Sox would ultimately lose in the postseason because they relied on the advantage of playing half their games there. I always pointed to 1986 as the reason his argument was flawed. Did Bill Buckner, Calvin Schiraldi, John McNamara, etc. all suddenly say "we can't win this thing tonight (game 6 at Shea Stadium), because we play our home games at Fenway Park"? Of course not, that's why it was a ridiculous thing to say. Just like David Tyree, Eli Manning, Wes Welker and Mario Manningham didn't suddenly say "wait, the Patriots can't win this....they are supposed to lose"!!

As for the Welker incident, I hardly think it was intentional.
Why would you send your 5-11, 180lb WR out there to do it instead of the 6'4' 230lb WR ?

IF this was intentional.

Awesome post Bill.

What you said right there is why I don't buy into the argument where they haven't won another superbowl because they're not cheating. That's how I've always felt but I also can understand why that comment is being thrown out there. Doesn't mean I personally agree with it. Good post Bill.

roflmao!!! yes the poor old 40whiners got screwed so bad this season.

Ive had enough of you :computerwindow: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Seahawks run into the SF kicker's plant leg and the refs make the wrong call: Seakhawks are penalized 10 yards instead of being 1st in 10 for SF.
Kicker is hurt, the coach is irrate and so is the team. Hawks march down, score and take the lead. At this point, the 49ers are just demoralized and lost
all momentum.

Had Sf retained the ball and scored to expand their lead I doubt the Seahawks' could come back.

So yes, this bad call clearly had an impact on the outcome.

Cheers, K

Teams know they have to bring their A game (if they have one) for the entire game to defeat the Patriots. The Brady/Belichick mystique is no longer there like it was a few years back. Increased league parity is a factor as well.

I agree that the playing field is getting even but to say the B/B mystique is gone is a stretch.

Image sunday's game with a healthy Gronk and Hernandez in the line-up. Plus throw in Thompkins, Mayo, Spikes, Vollmer, Kelly and Wilfork (plus Talib for a full game) Guaranteed the score wont end 26-16.

IMO, Bill did his best coaching job ever with the Pats. 2nd seed in the AFC despite an offense with no quality WR or TE and a rag tag crew on defense? Its impressive.

Cheers, K

I didn't say the mystique was gone, it just doesn't play as big a factor with the better teams. They feel they can beat New England.

As for injuries and other "what ifs", all teams have to deal with that all season long, part of the game.

Agree 100%!!

Also, the one thing that this team has lacked for years now is a playmaker on defense. Ty Law, Tedy Bruschi, Rodney Harrison and Richard Seymour all came up with game changing plays when this team was winning championships. IMO, that has been sorely lacking for the better part of the last decade.
