There's three automatic bids up for grabs this evening.....

Sun Belt- Western Kentucky vs. North Texas- 7:00pm ET (ESPN2)
Horizon League- Detroit vs. Valparaiso- 9:00pm ET (ESPN)
Summit League- Western Illinois vs. South Dakota State- 9:00pm ET (ESPN2)

Go Western Kentucky! Hilltoppers all the way! LOL

Big East Opening Round today at MSG

12 noon ET- #9 UConn vs. #16 DePaul (ESPN2) -winner plays #8 West Virginia
2:30pm ET- #12 St. John's vs. #13 Pittsburgh (ESPN2)- winner plays #5 Georgetown
7:00pm ET- #10 Seton Hall vs. #15 Providence (ESPNU)- winner plays #7 Louisville
9:30pm ET- #11 Rutgers vs. #14 Villanova (ESPNU)- winner plays #6 South Florida

Must wins today for UConn and Seton Hall. I believe the Huskies are in, regardless of what happens today (barring a blowout loss of course). But IMO, the Pirates must win tonight AND tomorrow night against Louisville to get an at-large. Everyone else that plays today would have to run the table.

Good to see UNCA and Davidson back in the big dance. Now if either of them had a Seth Curry they could do some damage.3 pointers are a tourny game changer. If the Tarheels run into a hot 3 point shooting team they are in trouble.

UConn advances in the BET, and will play West Virginia tomorrow at noon ET.

Congrats to the Hilltoppers, the Sun Belt Conference champs!

Also, congrats to Ivy League Champions....the Harvard Crimson. The boys from Cambridge are going dancing for the first time since 1946!

So sad for the Mrs's alma mater losing (Fairfield). Oh well.

Sorry about that. When it comes tourney time, I like to root for the locals. Apparently, that never works out because with the exception of Uconn, who locally makes the tourney?

Bill, this is one of the great times of year. Everybody who talks about greed in the NCAA in general, you know what look at the kids who won there tourney tonight. They probably won't make it far in the big dance but for them winning there conference tourney means everything to them.

Championship Week/March Madness is truly one of the most special times on the sports calendar! :)

As far as Harvard goes, they have been ranked in the top 20 a couple of times this season, and IMO Tommy Amaker is one of the most underrated coaches in the country. I wouldn't be shocked if Harvard wins a game or two in the tourney.

Biggest Day in South Dakota History

Both the Jackrabbit mens and womens team won the automatic bid from the Summit.....and both in OT too :)
