2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs

I wish that I could say I'm surprised....but I'm not! The Red Wings always play with a lot of heart and IMO, they're the model North American sports franchise of the last 20 years!

Prior to last year, in my lifetime, a 3-0 series deficit in the NHL was practically a death sentence (the two other comebacks in 1942 and 1975 were before my time).

With what Philly did last year, Chicago almost did this year, and what Detroit is doing this year- my, how times have changed.

3-0 series leads, from now on, will NOT be taken for granted anymore.

I heard a stat when it was 3-0 that the trailing team won the series 2% of the time.
Wonder what the percentage is for the team leading the series when it goes to a game 7 after leading 3-0 ?

Also, I heard Mickey Redmond say that the next round would start on Sunday regardless of who wins.

Now tell me,
Why are some games in Vancouver starting at 8, others at 9 and typically it would be 10 ... ?

It's to our benefit, but just wondering, they are in the Pacific Time zone, just like SJ.
If games can start at 8 and 9 out there, why do we have to put up with 10:30 starts from time to time and almost always that way in the regular season. Hockey, baseball both do this.

The 8pm starts (5pm PT) are on weekends (typically no work for the locals). And they they play at 9pm instead of 10pm because they are stand alone games those evenings (Eastern Conference games are on WC off nights and vice versa)

Hey, ya know what, your pretty good with these explanations !

FYI,
Wings and Sharks game on Thursday is at 9, but if your in the FSN Detroit area, they have a special about the Wings on at 8pm ahead of the game.

There are have been seven (7) Game 7s after trailing series 3-0...Detroit-San Jose will be number eight (8). 3 out of the 7 previous series were won by the team trailing:

2011 Red Wings vs Sharks - ?
2011 Blackhawks vs Canucks - L
2010 Flyers vs Bruins - W
1975 Islanders vs Flyers - L
1975 Islanders vs Penguins - W
1945 Red Wings vs Maple Leafs - L
1942 Maples Leafs vs Red Wings - W
1939 Rangers vs Bruins - L

Based on the above pattern of L, W, L, W, L, W, L....I predict the Wings will W. :)

Are you a Season Ticket Holder?

Did I miss anything when I was gone?
