2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs

There are have been seven (7) Game 7s after trailing series 3-0...Detroit-San Jose will be number eight (8). 3 out of the 7 previous series were won by the team trailing:

2011 Red Wings vs Sharks - ?
2011 Blackhawks vs Canucks - L
2010 Flyers vs Bruins - W
1975 Islanders vs Flyers - L
1975 Islanders vs Penguins - W
1945 Red Wings vs Maple Leafs - L
1942 Maples Leafs vs Red Wings - W
1939 Rangers vs Bruins - L

Based on the above pattern of L, W, L, W, L, W, L....I predict the Wings will W. :)

I'll take those odds any day after being down 3-0 !

Now tell me,
Why are some games in Vancouver starting at 8, others at 9 and typically it would be 10 ... ?

It's to our benefit, but just wondering, they are in the Pacific Time zone, just like SJ.
If games can start at 8 and 9 out there, why do we have to put up with 10:30 starts from time to time and almost always that way in the regular season. Hockey, baseball both do this.

And you tell me Jimbo, how unfair is it for West Coasters to have to put up with 6PM starts DURING THE WORK WEEK!!! Just doesn't make any sense. Half the people won't be home from work, of from driving their kids to their activities, etc., and they'll miss part of the game.

IT'S JUST NOT FAIR!!!

There is also still a chance that the series can be between two Pacific time zone teams, but they're catering the schedule for Eastern Time Zone people. It's not right.

The Sharks HAVE to win the cup this year! I know none of us hockey fans want the cup in California on Dec 21st 2012 when California sinks into the ocean!!!

Jim Rome is calling the Shark's effort these last few games a choke job. Do you agree?

To some extent I suppose, but you have to keep in mind it's very difficult to knock out the Red Wings. They have a bunch of guys on that team who know how to win, so losing to them is never embarassing.

That said, Joe Thornton is playing like he just doesn't want the puck...Mark Messier he's not. He's shying away, not trying to be the dynamic force he can be during the regular season.

Still, nothing has been lost by the Sharks yet. Just like the Sharks have to win four to advance, so do the Red Wings...and they've only won three.

Well said...nothing has been lost or gained at this point. However, what if San Jose loses this series? Should they be forced to play the Washington Capitals in some sort of Anti-Stanley Cup? I kinda feel sorry for both teams, but I honestly believe you get back what you put into the game.

Under the Weather...

...OK, I never get sick during the cold and flu season (Fall/Winter/Spring), but I often manage to get some sort of idiotic sinus infection/bronchitis/walking pneumonia just about every May from seasonal allergies. Unfortunately, I don't take any allergy medicine since the side effects are worse than just suffering for a few weeks.

Not at all related to the Stanley Cup Playoffs but at least I get to use the SIQ icon.

Back on Topic...Go Wings! :first:

I dont think so, each game has been very close I think one goal each game, other then the last game with the empty net. The way this series has been you would think it would be 3-3 with each team going back and fourth with wins, that said I am glad it is going to a game seven! Go wings!!

Ask yourself this, would you rather miss the BEGINNING of a game or the END ?

Are you a Season Ticket Holder?

Did I miss anything when I was gone?
