2011 NBA Draft Thread

I do not take glee in the Knicks not being good. I LIKE when teams I hate are good. Makes it fun that could develope into a rivalry. I really did not pay attention to this draft because there was no real star power in it. The fact that 4 Europeans out of the 1st ten pics seals it. I think as long as some of the raw but good players keep coming out early, we will never know how good they are until a few years into their NBA careers.

I agree with HD that Jan Velesny (sp?), the guy Washington picked, looks like he could have a huge upside. I think he was the guy who kissed the pretty girl right after he was selected, sending the crowd (and Fran Fraschilla!) into a tizzy.

on the contrary...that and center is. Though they are hoping last years #1 pick, the kid from Texas, Dexter Pittman can deliver on his upside.
Yeah i tend to agree with you here salsa. and i'm counting on pittman for next season. he was a beast in the D league.

Everything flows through Wade and Lebron anyway. Just don't get picking a point guard in the first round.

while this is true sandra i think a good pg will help better distribute the ball to wade and lebron. besides we're thin at pg. i like chalmers but after him what then? i'm ok with this pick as long as it works out of course :D

He was raw young talent when drafted that was a little out of shape. He is almost 40 pounds lighter by some accounts and alot quicker and more hops. He has a pretty good post up game and rumor has it he will be attend the Hakeem "the Dream" bigman camp during the office season.

I don't know, rey, it doesn't seem like Miami even uses a point guard in a traditional sense...and they already have Chalmers, who is OK for what he's asked to do. That's why I question the pick.

How do you know? I guarantee you've never seen a Cleveland State game. Or are you just going on what the press is saying?

I happen...to see a few of the opening round NCAA games that were here in Miami(Cleveland State was a 14 or a 15 seed) and by chance(I will admit I was channel surffering), caught the game in mid or late February where he had 41 points, 20 rebounds and 9 assists.

Like I said, catching him on TV were complete flukes....but he has fire and ability.

Ok, fair enough. And I agree.

The thing is, I was hoping he'd slide to the Cav's since most teams/fans haven't heard much about him since he was from a small school and with little national recognition. Figures he ends up in Miami! ugh!!! The only thing that can be said against the guy is that he hasn't played against top talent. Other than that, he has HUGE upside. Like Cole A LOT!

Well...he was on 790 the ticket this morning and I like what I heard from him. The main reason I like him is because he was considered one of the fastest guys in the draft.
