Schefter said we might be in the running for Peyton Manning today.....

And why would Rex want Tebow??? Maybe JAX new owners would be interested, but I think no others....

Really????? I'm just being hypothetical(just throwing this idea out for debate),the idea of Manning coming to the Broncos must be the product of a slow news day. Before the Broncos got a QB in his prime(John Elway),they were known for getting past their prime QB's like Charley Johnson & Craig Morton. Add Peyton Manning to that list if the Broncos get him. Good grief, what is wrong with the idea of Peyton Manning,if he can still play, being on the same team with an Andrew Luck or Matt Barkley & training them to take over the team when he finally does retire? Why is it such a hard concept to grasp? Where is it written in stone that you cannot win with Tim Tebow AND Peyton Manning & either Andrew Luck or Matt Barkley cannot co-exist on the same team? Right, another team is going to trade the farm away for a QB in his mid thirties with a suspect neck. That'll rebuild the Colts' defense.

"We'll trade you Peyton Manning for Elvis Dumervil & Von Miller." & our Broncos will reply,"sure thing, done deal,& we'll throw in Tim Tebow for free." "Oh boy,we finally have a 'past his prime' quarterback & all we had to do was trade away the best players on our team & our future for pie in the sky today."

Well, if McDaniels was still here, that might have been the case!

Thats what I was thinking too ...

Jacksonville would love to have him, they thought about drafting him.

Peyton to the Bronco's, being healthy enough to play that is ... the Bronco's WR's would be lost, not knowing what was going on, having footballs being thrown at them.

Why would Manning come to a team that is now completely built around the run. From the OL to the blocking scheme to the WR? They literally start from scratch AGAIN..?

Makes no sense at all. Manning, if traded, will go to a team that is one or two great players away from going deep into the playoff...not a team that just rebuilt one way to be broken down and built another way.

Manning going to say...a team like the JETS makes perfect sense to me.

Schefter just listed about 5 teams that if hypothetically the Colts were trading Manning, that he thought would be interested....NYJ was not one of them...

LOL haven't been listening to Mike and Mike in the morning much...I switched to Boomer and Carton because Boomer Esiason's man crush on the Rangers is so cute.

But I did hear this today on Mike and Mike...

N-stompikin Stupid

LOL!

I don't even understand the NFL appeal process. Is the appeal brought to someone other than the person who imposed the suspension? If not, what's the point?

Sandra

Gotcha. Who imposed the suspension? Goodell, or someone else?

Does the NFLPA represent Suh for the appeal?

Sandra
AFAIK it is Goodell who hands down the suspensions. Not sure about the representation, but Suh was encouraged to appeal by the NFLPA and Goodell himself. This is what leads me to beleive the suspension may be reduced to one game....

from the "ironic" category...Vikes got 3000 tickets to sell by Thursday or face blackout.
I bet dollars to donuts if the game was still on CBS WCCO (CBS here in Mpls) would buy the remaining tickets so the game would be shown.

So WCCO might get to show an early game...maybe ;)

So in Minneapolis on Sunday, it will probably be either:

If the Vikings sellout: Broncos-Vikes (FOX-early) AND Ravens-Browns (CBS-late) OR

If the Vikes DON'T sellout: Chiefs-Bears (CBS-early) AND Packers-Giants (FOX-late)

If I'm the Fox affiliate I think I snatch up the tickets. IMO, it's a win-win.....you get to show your local team going against the hottest name in the NFL, AND you bury CBS in the ratings Sunday afternoon.

OTOH, Packers-Giants is a plum matchup (I'm assuming the Pack is a decent draw in the Twin Cities) in the late afternoon window for FOX, and CBS would get the Bears early.

Hmmm, I'll be interested to see how this unique situation shakes out. :)

WCCO here in the cities gets the shaft

The Vikings announced this morning that Sunday's game against Denver will be televised locally (noon, Ch. 9) because enough tickets have been sold to avoid a blackout.
This will be the team's 142nd consecutive sellout at the Metrodome.

so CCO has to show Baltimore/Cleveland

The Minnesota Vikings plan to release veteran quarterback Donovan McNabb later Thursday, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

McNabb was benched by Vikings coach Leslie Frazier in mid-October, and rookie Christian Ponder has been behind center ever since. McNabb has remained on the team as the backup.

"I know I have a lot of football left in me," McNabb said at the time of his benching.
Seems like McNabb trots out that statement each time his time is up with a team...
