2010 NBA Playoffs

Player of the game tonight?

A. Paul Pierce

B. Ray Allen

C. Kevin Garnett

D. Rajon Rondo

E. Glen Davis

I have co-players of the game: Allen and Davis

Ray-Ray was white hot in the second quarter, and Baby was incredible in the second half.

The lead is up to 30.

Wow. Just wow.

I don't ever recall a series like it. Verrrrry strange:

The Celtics with two blowout wins at the Q, and the Cavs beating up the C's by 29 at the Garden (the C's most lopsided postseason loss ever ANYWHERE)

Easy for me to say, but hang in there buddy!

I have a strange feeling that the Celtics will be returning to Cleveland on Sunday............

Thanks for the optimism, but that's not happening Bill. This series is done. In 4 of 5 games, this team, led by their MVP of a leader has played passive and with a lack of agression or urgency. Completely uncharacteristic of what I watched throughout the season. It's like watching a completely different team. I don't recognize these Cavs or LeBron in this series. Of course, some of this is a testament to your Celtics stout defense, but still....

I said it in a previous post, but what makes it all the more difficult is that I KNOW LeBron is capable of so much more (see Game 3), yet it appears he already has 1 foot out of the door. Completely unacceptable. There was 1 goal this year and this team melted.

This one is going to sting for a real long time.

EXTRA EXTRA .. MASSACRE at Quickens Loans Arena in progress. And Lebron chewing his nails how Disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This just in, its a final now.. 120-88
Thank god this game is done

Just caught the postgame interview. I heard K.G. say something that I think can sum up the game coming up on Thursday:

"Game 6 is going to be like our game 7."

Worst home loss in Cavs history. It's probably too little, too late, but perhaps this will be a wake-up call.

This should be a shot to their manhood. We'll see what this team is really made of on Thursday.

And I thought game 3 was horrible.. was only 29 points compared to 32 tonight, my my myyyyyyyyyy

From the point the Cavs had an 8 point second quarter lead, the Celtics outscored them 99-59 the rest of the game!

This could have been Lebron's last game in Cleveland, TBA.

The Day After

The sting is still there. But, I'm not going to run and hide from reality. I'm a big boy. Cleveland made it's bones while other cities were showered with Championships. Us? Well, we've had our hearts ripped out of our chests time and time again. To the point where our souls are pretty much numb to the feeling. With that said, let me try to summarize this loss.

This goes beyond matchups, rotations and coaching. There is a bigger problem here. Much bigger....

The Cavs have won 127 regular season games the last two years. All season long, we proved that we can beat anybody; that the only way we can lose is by beating ourselves. And guess what? We're beating ourselves.

In 4 of 5 games, the Celtics have outplayed & out hustled us. I can understand injuries and bad games, but this team, led by their MVP leader is playing with no emotion or sense of urgency. That is inexcusable. LeBron looks disinterested and like his spirit has been broken.

I don't want to go there, because we'll all hear it from the NY Media, but it's almost as if LeBron has one foot out the door already. I've NEVER, in my 7+ years of following LBJ EVER seen such a lack of effort out of him before than in 3 out of 5 of these games. It's embarrassing for this team to go out like this. This city deserves so much more. And if what I am suggesting turns out to be the truth, well, F* LeBron. He's lost all credibility to me. I will root against him forever and I will never forget the complete lack of effort he gave in his final series ever as a Cavalier. If he stays, well, there has to be a different reason to explain his showing and I take back everything I said.

More thoughts later....

Cavs Owner, Dan Gilbert Speaks

and he's not too happy....

"Our entire franchise has done everything in its power to put all of our players and its coaching staff in the best possible position to execute when it counts," Gilbert said. "And to deliver to the highly supportive fans of Cleveland a proud, intense, impassioned all-out drive to achieve a championship."

"The last two home playoff losses and the manner in which we lost these games does not come close to being anywhere near the high expectations all of us have of our organization. Our fans and supporters deserve more."

Like many fans must have been feeling after the 32-point loss, the worst home playoff loss in team history, Gilbert seemed to be taken aback by his team's effort in both the Game 4 and Game 5 losses, in which the Cavs were outhustled by the Celtics.

"Above all, the fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers, as well as the entire franchise, deserve and need our players and coaches to dig deep within themselves," Gilbert said.

Despite his disappointment in the losses, Gilbert, who is known for his optimism, said he's confident his team will be able to rebound in Game 6.

"We have to ask ourselves two questions," he said. "Will we remember who we are and choose to impose our will on our opponent for the remainder of this series and beyond? And how much do we want it? I believe in our players, our coaching staff and our entire franchise. This series is not over."

Enough with the Mickey Mouse talk. We've got a game to prepare for tonight...

In regards to the Cavs vs. Celtics Game 5, this is as huge of a game for Cleveland that I can ever remember. Yes, it's tied at 2 games a piece and yes we still have homecourt, but to lose tonight and to head back to Boston for a series-deciding game is the last thing we would want.

Championship dreams are still out there. We need to keep them alive. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Depending on the outcome, the emotion of Cleveland sports nation is likely to range from unbounded wrath to giddy jubilation. Our sanity hangs in the balance.

My current set of emotions are more nervousness than excitement. Hurry up 8pm!

Remember yesterday when I predicted fallout or jubilation? Well, can you guess the set of emotions going on in C-Town right now? Good god it's ugly.... :(

I'm on the bridge with you, HD. I just don't know what to make of what I saw last night. I'm disgusted and could barely watch the 4th quarter last night.

I don't think Lebron played like sh*t because he has one foot out the door, though. I just think he had a bad shooting night. That doesn't mean he can completely check out of the game mentally, though. He needs to cure that loserish attitute real quick and bring this series back home for 7. I still have some hope.

One bad game, fine. I can understand that, but he's been passive, indecisive, and un-agressive for 3 of the 5 games. His play, or lack there of has rubbed off on the rest of the team. He needs to lead by example. If his shot is off, fine. Go to the hole, drive, play defense, chase down and block shots, whatever it takes. He has plenty of other ways to effect the game.

I can live with a loss if the team lays it all out on the court, but I have this sickening feeling that LeBron has so much more to give and for some reason, we're not seeing the all-out performance that we're used to.

In Game 4, we were within 2 points heading into the 4th. Ok, I thought. It's LeBron time. The time where he puts the team on his shoulders and takes over the game. That didn't happen though. He turned the ball over by making sloppy passes (very unlike himself), he was hesitant to take open shots, he didn't drive to the lane and create for himself.

In Game 5, it was more of the same, although even more ugly.

We all know what he's capable of. But what is he waiting for? I don't understand.
