2010-11 NBA PLAYOFFS

I understand where you're coming from with this statement, rey, but in fairness to Gilbert it's not like if he makes a comment on May 11 about something other than the Cavs, that he's not dedicated to turning the Cavs into winners.

Two different things.

Sandra
agreed. now for cavs fans, they deserve that he moves on completely from lebron already and with urgency get to work real hard on getting the cavs fans what they deserve. a winner. but you're right. one little comment isn't a big deal.as long as it doesn't happen often. he really needs to make the effort and move on

I can't wait for the ECF. I'm assuming they start on Sunday if Chicago were to win tonight (which sure isn't a given). Does anyone know for sure?

I can understand Gilbert's rants immediately following The Decision, but now, almost a year later, I think it makes him petty and foolish, especially after a Heat victory. Will there be more sour grapes if the Heat keep advancing??

It's time to move on and take the high road. But, if the Heat don't win it all, well.... :p

Well said.

While I can see that would play well locally, Gilbert should be thinking more nationally instead, and how he's being perceived. That probably would help to rebuild the team faster...

I disagree. The Cavs had trouble attracting free agents when Lebron was here. They're going to have to rebuild through the draft and trades.

I don't believe the NBA ever moves series dates up like that since the tentative game 7 is scheduled for that day...

Edit: Whoops, looks like Oprah may have something to say about the schedule:

The NBA informed a few involved parties before Tuesday's Bulls game that if the Heat and Chicago win their series in six games or fewer, Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals would need to be moved from Monday to Sunday night because the United Center likely is unavailable Monday to allow Oprah Winfrey's crew to set up for the taping of one of her final shows. If the Heat or Bulls series go seven games, Game 1 of the Eastern finals would be Wednesday.

Yeah, the NBA usually does move games up, cosmo, especially to Sunday. They want a game in that prime slot, whether it's a game seven of one series, or game one of the next.

The NHL are the ones who keep teams like the Bruins and Lightning waiting around for a week, since both swept the last round.

And finally, I was just thinking....is Pierce gonna send anything smartass now in Twitter like he did the last time they beat Miami in Miami..... "it's been a pleasure to bring my talents to South Beach"?

one more thing i forgot to add. celtics coach, ray allen and west. very classy people for sticking around after the loss. very classy!!

I like Doc Rivers even more now:

"I've never seen a team more criticized in my life and a guy in LeBron criticized for doing what was legal," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. "He didn't break the law, he didn't do anything wrong. The preseason parade may have been a little much, but other than that, I just told him good luck and keep going. He was very emotional, and good for him. I don't think you can play this sport and be a winner without emotion."

Article is a good read Rey....give it a look.

Bulls vs. Heat....

PG.... Rose...VS... Bibby....HUGE advantage BULLS

SG.... Bogans... VS ... Wade...HUGE advantage HEAT

SF.... Dang... VS...James... HUGE advantage HEAT

PF.... Boozer... VS ... Bosh .... EVEN to Slight advantage HEAT(Bosh has better offense, younger and has had big moments in the Celtics series..Boozer better rebound but did not have a decent game till the deciding game)

C .... Noah... VS.... Anthony .... Slight Edge to Bulls(Noah has better offense)

BENCH: Bulls... Corver, Brewer and Gibson. Heat... Miller, Chalmers, Jones and Haslem. EVEN. The key will be the shooting of Jones and Chalmers who can be streaky. Bulls tend to be a little more steady but they have no one that can explode for alot points like a James Jones can(case in point, game one for Jones and Chalmers for game two)

INTANGLABLES: Bulls have homecourt advantage. BOTH teams have been able to win on the road. Bulls swept the series, but going back to the Celtics vs. Heat regular season, it means nothing. But one things for sure, at any given time, Miami will have 2 of the top 5 players in the league wearing the same uniform, that is to obvious to ignore. EVEN

COACHING: EVEN to slight edge to Heat ONLY because Spolestra has coached in the playoffs(last year) and Tom Thibodeau is his 1st time around.

This is gonna be such a great series. I think Miami will win in 7. Expect 1 blowout by each team and a bunch of real tight games. I can't wait!

Bulls and Heat will meet for the fifth time in the playoffs-and Salsa knows about this quite well (when he used to cover the Bulls, they faced off three times in the playoffs).

They were ALWAYS fun...the intensity of Alonzo Mourning...the crossover of Tim Hardaway...the dominance of Michael Jordan....and coming to Miami and seeing about 1/3 of the fans being BULLS fans. That will NOT be the case this time.

i think the heat will have to put james on rose for this one.

Nope. Let Chalmers get him. It's the ole Michael Jordan defense from the past PRE Scottie Pippen...try...try to slow Rose down and force someone else to beat you.

Boozer and Bosh should be fascinating to watch. Difficult to find two power forwards who are more polar opposites. Bosh with the skill and the jump shots, Boozer with the fierce inside game and rebounding. The only thing you have to wonder is whether Boozer can stay healthy.

Sandra

And that is why I think the Heat did not really chase Boozer or Amare...it was a question of health.

The other intriguing thought, yeah, the Bulls might be able slow down one superstar....but two...I highly doubt it.
