2010-11 NBA Basketball Season

Isn't that the guy who you once called "some no-name from the freaking Congo?"

Yes.

At the time we drafted him (2 years ago), he was very raw. The team we had then wasn't at the luxury to wait for talent. I wanted an impact player that could help us right then and there. It looks like he is developing soundly, but I still doubt he'll ever be a superstar in this league.

Lol OK SOMEBODY has to suck it up and change direction here, so...

Does anybody really care about the all-star game? Not me. I prefer watching bracket-buster games!

What about Carmelo? Denver is asking for an awful lot from both the Knicks and the Nets. Based on the last proposals I saw, both teams should pass.

It's funny watching Steve Nash and Vince Carter in the same backcourt.

How about Portland? No Odem, no Roy, but they keep on chugging along.

How do you think Kevin Love would fare on a good team?

What about Orlando? How high is their upside?

Does anybody really care about the all-star game? Not me. I prefer watching bracket-buster games! Not gonna watch it....Skills competions for me.

Denver was gonna ask for alot getting when they would be trading one of the top 5 players in the league. I just don't like the fact that the ONLY way the Knicks are in Melo sweeptstakes his is by trading everything but Amare...there would be nothing left but him, the coach and a couple of peanut vendors.

How do you think Kevin Love would fare on a good team? He has been rumored in multiple trade scenarios from what I have been reading.

What about Orlando? How high is their upside? I think they lost too much defense for offense.

I don't watch the All-Star game because there is no defense whatsoever in the game.

The last All-Star game I really enjoyed was the first one after the leagues merged. I think it was in 1977 or 1978. They actually did play defense, and they threw everything but the kitchen sink at one another.

One other cool game was around 1980, because all four quarters ended with shots going in that were in the air when the hrn sounded, and three of them were real bombs, including a 70 footer.

It's 60°F and sunny for the first time in 6 months. No, I won't be sitting inside and watching overpaid show-offs on TV this weekend.

Yeah, it's in the 70's here. Gotta love the weather is finally changing.

Tomorrow is the Shore Conference boys basketball quarterfinals, four games in a row beginning at 11:30 AM, and I usually spend most if not all of the day watching the games. They're at Brookdale Community College, which has a really awesome sunken court and stands. Always a great day on the calendar...unless it's warm outside!

Word is that the Nets and Nuggets have had an agreeement for a while, but Carmelo has been reluctant to sign with them.

Sandra
They've been talking for a while, but it seems the agreement actually occurred fairly recently:

Last month, Prokhorov pulled the Nets out of talks for Anthony when they were close to reaching an agreement on a three-team trade that included the Pistons. On Jan. 19, Prokhorov stopped the talks and cancelled a meeting with Anthony for the next day.

But the Nuggets called the Nets earlier this week and they re-engaged in conversations.

Saying different things on the radio here. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Just like with Pujols there is a ton of negotiating going on.

Either way, the Nets are waiting on Carmelo to sign before they'll pull the trigger on the deal. We'll see what happens this weekend. IMHO the Nets are giving up way too much.

Why in the world does this discussion continue??? Carmelo already said he will only sign an extension with the Knicks . I don't get this.........

Carmelo is walking a tightrope right now. He wants a deal before the next CBA, which he can get from the Nets. And the Nets and Nuggets have a deal in place. The only thing missing is Carmelo's signature, because the Nets won't make the trade without it.

But he wants to play for the Knicks...who may or may not be able to make a deal with Denver. Carmelo would sign with the Knicks instantly if there is a trade.

Time will tell.
