2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs

What irony- Carolina's series-winning goal is scored by the guy who threw the sucker punch in game 5 and probably should have been suspended.

I feel SO bad for the B's.

Now- I don't have a horse to choose in the East Finals.

Pittsburgh and Carolina- definitely did not see this one coming.

(I picked Boston and Washington to make the East Finals- both lost. I'm not happy.)

I picked Boston and Washington going into the playoffs, but more recently I picked Carolina to upset Boston. I think most people overlooked both Eastern Conference Final teams, but Pittsburgh was the conference champion last year, and Carolina won the Cup in 2006 and won the conference championship in 2002. A lot of these series could have gone either way.

Anyway, if Detroit can take care of business with Chicago they will face a rematch with their 2002 or 2008 Stanley Cup Finals opponent.

Gentlemen,

It was a thrill forcing you to Game 7! Clearly the finer team won. Good luck in the next round.

All the best,

KCK_Halo

Fellas, fellas..... why haven't any of you briefed me on this wonderful sport on ice sooner?!!!!

OMFG! I was flipping frantically between the Ducks/Wings game, my Indians/Rays game and the Magic/Celtics game all night.

I must say, that Wings/Ducks game was INTENSE! The fans at Joe Louis Arena were jacked and on their feet the entire game!

What a great mix of passion, skill and intensity these NHL Playoffs are presenting. I'm truly jealous of the cities with teams to root for. As a Cleveland fan, I guess I'm SOL.

Congrats Red Wing fans. The next series against the Hawks should be a good one. As for the Ducks. My heart goes out to that poor kid Jonas Hiller. :(

Are you kidding me? Its going to be payback for the winter classic loss, 4 times over! Who ever wins this series should be the next NHL Stanley cup champ, I dont care who's the team from the east.. They cant even come close to what its taken to get to the finals in the west.

Welcome to Playoff Hockey in May :D

This time of year, the remote gets some heavy use!

This Carolina/Pittsburgh conference finals- well, I didn't see it coming and, honestly, it wasn't the matchup I saw coming or would have wanted to see at the start of the playoffs (I was rooting for Boston and Washington).

Remember how Anders was not-too-thrilled about the Eagles/Cardinals NFC Championship game?

Well, I somewhat feel the same way- I'm not going to call it a joke, but I don't have a horse in this matchup since I picked both teams to lose in round 2- and they didn't.

For the record, Pens in 6.

NBA Finals
