2009 NBA Playoffs

Ouch. I'm too mad to even talk about it now. That was a game for the Cavs taking and they blew it. Orlando was off and we still lost by 10! :( Game 4 is pretty much a must win...I hope the Cavs remember how to shoot a jumper before then.

Not pretty much....it IS a MUST WIN for the Cavs because Orlando has proven they can will in Cleveland.

This future of the Cavs in this series now ALL depends on Mike Brown and whether he makes the proper adjustments for what Orlando is doing.

well we'll see. they couldn't adjust to what the magic were doing last night. like mentioned before, if james doesn't hit that last second shot in game 2 they would be down 0-3. maybe it's kind of early to panic but i began to panic yesterday with 8 minutes left in the 4th. i kept telling the wife last night that the cavs aren't handling what the magic are doing and were going to lose.i hate to say this but i really wanted the cavs in the finals and it seems to me that's not going to happen :(

Well...truthfully.....it really is not too late. The series NOW depends on Mike Brown, WHAT is he gonna come up with to counter game 1.....because since then, Orlando has done pretty much the same thing and he is either is TOO stubborn to make adjustments thinking everything is fine or just has not come up with one. The main thing I have seen in the mismatches....is that WHOMEVER Lebron is not covering at the time....that guy is putting up the numbers. Does not matter who it is....when Lebron moves to cover someone else....that guy starts lighting up the Cavs.

AND...last night, the Cavs WAY BEYOND the benefit of the doubt in calls by the ref.

Yep. Last night was especially disappointing because we blew our best defensive effort against the Magic. And btw, when did Dwight Howard become a 95% free-throw shooter?! Suddenly he's the best free throw shooter since Mark Price! Go figure...

Anyways, I could live with the loss if I knew we played as well as we could and got everything we had out of our team, but that wasn't the case here. Our roll players just aren't playing up to their potential. Certainly not up to what they showed possible during the regular season. Mo, Delonte and Z all need to step up. They are ice cold from the field.

Two things we need to correct for Game 4.

1. Turnovers. Last night we gave up 15 turnovers that led to 21 Magic points. That is highly uncharacteristic for our ballhandlers, Mo and Delonte who accounted for 9 of them.

2. We need to knock down open shots. The Cavs shot a very teling 5-of-26 on 3 pointers last night. LeBron can't do it all by himself. We need another option. Mo was that option during the regular season. Now, he's in a bit of a shooter's slump. It's not like we're not getting open looks, because we are. We just aren't hitting the open shot and that's what's so frustrating.

WTF is going on with Mo Williams? Is the stage too big for him? He looks like a completely different player than what he was during the regular season.

I believe this is his first playoff appearance. I'm beginning to wonder if he is too inexperienced at this next level of competition too.

I aint panicking yet. We're down 1-2. That's all. I know Game 3 was ugly, but Tuesday is a new day. If/when we win, it's tied up 2-2 and we have home-court advantage back. Then, it's a best of 3 game series with 2 games at the Q.

Now, if we lose Game 4, you can officially sound the alarms, because panic will surely ensue.

But there is such a huge difference between these Cavs and THOSE Bulls teams....1st and foremost, Michael Jordan was much more mature and seasoned than Lebron was. Also...and people sometimes make light of this point, Scotty Pippen was the BEST side-kick since Batman and Robin. So it was like having Michael and and Michael LITE on the court at the same time. Lebron does NOT have the command of his team the way Michael did......yet. Jackson was and is a much better coach than Mike Brown is. The Bulls also had this swagger that I had not seen on ANY PROFESSIONAL team in a VERY long time. They didn't THINK they were gonna win...they KNEW they were gonna win.

It wasn't always that way. The Bulls had to wait until the Eastern conference got too old to compete with the Bull's first.

Next game is Tuesday. We know LeBron will be there. The question is when will the rest of the Cadavers (Sorry Matt, but that's how the rest of the team is playing) show up?

The thing that pissed me off more than anything last night was the stingy rotation Mike Brown is sticking to. We are basically playing a 7-8 man rotation and that's it. BTW, Ben Wallace is completely worthless. We get solid production from Joe Smith and Sasha Pavlovic is streaky. When our jump shooters aren't hitting, why isn't Boobie Gibson or Wally Szerbiak getting any playing time?! Come on Mike! The extended bench is what got us here! Why are they not playing?!

BTW, I'd also like to see Darnell Jackson on Dwight Howard or that Polish Sausage (Gortot). He's more of an offensive threat than Ben Wallace and I'm fairly confident he'd be able to defend as good, if not better than the aging and injured Wallace.

I would think, that from a coaching standpoint, this is a true test of Mike Brown.

No need to apologize. I've been critical of the role players too. I can see no one is stepping up and this is pretty upsetting.

Like I said in the previous post...the rest of this series now does not depend on the players....it is now up to coach Mike Brown. He HAS TO come up with a few...not a couple...but a few adjustments for the Cavs to have any chance.

One, he has to come up with a quicker team on the floor. Sorry, but the stiff in the middle is killing you on defensive rotations. SOMEONE quicker needs to play the middle. Two, either Delonte or Mo have to sit and start Sasha. He has done a good job guarding Hedu and has been able to penetrate and shoot his shot or dish off. And three, STOP depending on Lebron so much and get others involved!
For the 3rd straight game, when Lebron was MORE than 40% of the offense....they were in deep SH**! Too much watching.

And by the way, as much as you state the the Cavs had missed alot of open shots.....so did the Magic. BOTH team missed alot of open shots. IF they hit their usual share, it would be the same result but a high score.

I was screaming that at the TV last night. It was inexplicable. Sorry to say it, but Brown is losing the coaching matchup so far...

I agree on all three. The Cavs can't sit Mo, though. They are not going to win this series unless he steps up, and there's no way he can step up by sitting on the bench.

And if it wasn't for LeBron, Sasha might not be playing either. Remember, LeBron came out publicly following Game 1 and suggested that Sasha may be able to give us a threat needed off the bench? Then, wouldn't you know it, Sasha is suddenly getting more PT starting with Game 2. Maybe LeBron needs to have another talk with Coach.

Yep. Sasha should have played some in Game 1...maybe we would have held the lead. Mike Brown is doing a very poor job so far.

Once the Bulls FINALLY beat the Pistons....they were a very confident bunch.

The Pistons were old....the Bulls were better....finally...

W. Bedford 28
Aguirre 31
Dumars 28
Edwards 33
V. Johnson 33
Lambeer 33
Rodman 28
Salley 27
I. Thomas 29

The Bulls FINALLY had a more complete team.
Those were the ages of the main players on that team.

Pretty funny for those who havn't seen it:
