2009 NBA Playoffs

[/B]

The Magic are pretenders, not contenders. I said this would happen once the playoff's started, at least one person besides me see's this.

I've stated the same thing. The Magic STILL have not proven a thing when it comes to winning in April & May...

They're a streaky team and their game doesn't adapt well to the Playoffs.

Lee Out for Game 6. Magic Could Be Without Howard Too!

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Starting guard Courtney Lee will miss Game 6 of the Orlando Magic's playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Magic said Wednesday that Lee had a fractured sinus after taking an elbow to the head from teammate Dwight Howard in Game 5 on Tuesday night. Lee's status for the remainder of the playoffs is uncertain.

Howard soared to block a shot by Willie Green in the first quarter and inadvertently came down on his teammate. Lee was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

The Magic lead the Sixers 3-2 in the best-of-seven series. Game 6 is Thursday in Philadelphia.

Orlando could also be without Howard for the game. An NBA spokesman said the league is reviewing another elbow by Howard on the Sixers' Samuel Dalembert that drew a technical foul.

Dwight Howard should have been ejected last night with 9 minutes to go in the first quarter, and should miss game 6 in Philly. I would like to think the Sixers would be the prohibitive favorites without Howard in the line-up for nearly 2 games. Yet, the refs, completely ignoring the rulebook, give him merely a technical foul and the Magic go on to win the game and take a 3-2 series lead.

Finally warming to the NBA, Anders?
Some of these playoff games have been good, but they take forever. When did the NBA start allowing teams to have 10 timeouts each? The last 2 minutes and OT take 2 hrs to play. These teams call timeout after EVERY possession. I used to think that baseball games were slow.

Dwight Howard elbows Samuel Dalembert (Game 5)

I think they were both doing ALOT of pushing and shoving even BEFORE this play. THIS is what was caught on TV.

Wednesday's Playoff Schedule-All Times Eastern

Miami at Atlanta- Game 5- 8:00 PM [TNT(HD)]

New Orleans at Denver- Game 5- 10:30 PM [TNT(HD)]

Denver will finish off the Hornets tonight....they don't want to give the Mavericks too much time off until their series start.

Atlanta seems to have the feel now for beating the Heat...control D. Wade.

The Spurs are done...this is not a surprise. The Spurs were this years Suns, a smart team that could beat virtually any under .500 team but were only 12-12 against plus .500 teams. They need to get younger, guys like Finley and Bowen are one dimensional players now and the Spurs lack of firepower was very evident even before the playoffs.

The Magic are really looking like a dumb team...the players are not playing smart, and the coach making real dumbass statements against the Sixers, and now they will be shorthanded in Game 6. Grow Up Guys!

Howard Out for Game 6: Confirmed

We all expected this and now it's confirmed.

Dwight Howard is suspended for Game 6 for throwing an elbow.

Courtney Lee is also out with an injury.

The Magic will be VERY short handed for this next game. This all about assures a Game 7.

GOD awful interior defense...struggling Wade(except in the 3rd) and EVERYONE else AFRAID to shoot. NOW everyone sees WHY Michael Beasley does not start. The refs have been TERRIBLE letting Atlanta pretty much do whatever they want....and calling handchecking fouls 30 feet from the basket.

And this time last year people were saying how great Beasley would be. I didn't like one thing about him when was in college and I still don't. He is Derrick Coleman version 2.0.

Salsa, with all due respect, I think it may be a little too much to predict Miami would make a deep playoff run.

While this is a better season than expected after last year, it may take some time before Chalmers and Beasley make a run at a title. They need some seasoning- in two or three years, they will be challenging for a higher-seed or a division title.

Get back to me when Beasley acts like a whiny baby and says something to the affect of "whoop-de-damn-do!"

Until then, I'm not buying the comparison.

So, I saw Wade's "flagrant" foul tonight. I saw Howard is suspended for the elbow shot. My conclusion? Rondo should have received a flagrant 2. But no, nothing will get called against the Lakers, Cavs, or Celtics.

How bout them Nuggets!

Congratulations to the Denver Nuggets- Carmelo Anthony will finally go past the first round.

They KO the Hornets with a 107-86 rout.

(Then again, compared to the 58-point beatdown on Monday, this was a thriller by comparison.:D)

They are my pick in the West to possibly beat the Lakers and, possibly, make the NBA Finals.

How about that JR Smith- he is INSANELY good at three-pointers. He has a hot hand- we're talking Vida Guerra hot!

This seals the fate of the Iverson trade- who would have thunk that Denver would win a playoff series and Detroit wouldn't win one playoff game at the start of the year?

Wow, with Iverson gone...and Billups in? Wow, no one would ever thought of that.

Detroit must be crying because they lost their superstar Billups.
The guy is a 3 point machine this year, he is not missing anything.
I'd love to see Nuggets vs Lakers, this series will be off the hook, and of course, the Nuggets will take it, the Lakers can't seem to hang on to a 20 point lead...their Defense will come bite them in the butt deep in the playoffs.

My picks this year for the Finals: Cavs vs Nuggets!
This should be explosive, but I have a good feeling King James will dunk on top of everyone.
James > Carmelo

I still hope for the Celtics, I really want to see them win a championship without KG.
If KG was out there playing with the rest, we would have swept the bulls.
God this is annoying.

I don't think ANYONE predicted a deep playoff run by the HEAT, especially myself. I was thinking they would improve to win somewhere between 35-45 games. Like I have said before, the HEAT do well when Wade does well. The team is still VERY young. Chalmers will be a good point guard in the NBA. Beasley will be an offensive beast once he goes from being a 20 year old kid to a man. Atlanta is not a scary team in anyway, shape or form. They allow teams to come back and they are terrible on the road. They ONLY way they win in Miami is if Wade is still hurting....we will see HOW MUCH grit this young HEAT team has. And besides, they were NOT supposed to contend this year....just improve over last year's debacle...and they have.

Compare the two rosters....one is young with a good coach and the future ahead of them....the other was old and a coach that is as confused as a fish in a tank....YES, Billups helped this team...but sooner or later, they were gonna produce.
