2009-10 Hot Stove Baseball

Halladay obviously has the longer track record, but Cliffy worked out for them just fine last year and is younger. Why go through with what appears to be a swap of the two pitchers?
Both pitchers will command huge multi-year deals. If I'm an owner looking to make the investment, I'll choose the one with the more proven track record and a history of better durability....

Lackey agrees to 5 year deal with Red Sox.

Lester/Beckett/Lackey/Buchholz/Dice-K/Wakefield....................OH MY!!!! :up
Opening Day, 2009: Becket/Dice-K/Lester/Smoltz/Buckholtz/Masterson/Byrd/Wakefield. But within two months, they were scrounging around for a starter or two to fill out the rotation.

Don't forget Brad Penny. :D

The big difference going into the 2010 season is the Sox are much deeper at the top of the rotation.

Entering 2009 the Sox had Beckett, Lester and a lot of hoping and praying.

Now you add Lackey and a looks like he's ready for primetime Buchholz.

That being said, the Sox STILL need to address their lineup if they are to be taken seriously.

Red Sox have signed OF Mike Cameron to a two year contract.

It looks like Cameron will platoon with Jeremy Hermida in LF.

I laid awake most of the night thinking about the looming deal by the Phillies Mariners and Blue Jays. I could not rid myself of the thought the Phillies pitching staff would likely be called the HaHaHa Bla gang.
In case you are slow this morning I will give an explanation on request.
Now I hear one of the Ha's may be traded but that would still leave the Phillies as the HaHa Bla gang.
Sorry, but it is dangerous to be retired and have so much time on your hands.
Merry Christmas everyone. Looks like the Phillies and Mariners are exchanging equal gifts.
