2008 MLB All-Star Game

That's going to be a by-product of the tie a few years ago. The strategy used to be get everyone into the game and whoops, we ran out of players!!

IMO, the tie would have never occured if Barry Bonds had hit a ball a few feet higher...

I blame Hunter/Bonds for the tie.

I'd like to take a page from PTI:

Percentage-wise, chances a Yankee wins game MVP?

Give me the list of Yankees in the game first.
How many made it for thier name, not their performance, all players that is, not just Yankees. and who didn't make it that should have.

Injuries kept a few Tigers out as well as other players as well.

Jimbo

Hard to believe the N.L. hasn't won a Midsummer Classic since 1996.

Let me explain it in terms you can understand:

Sandra- Jeter was a rookie, Henrik was still in Sweden

Jimbo- John Cooper was Buckeyes coach

HD MM- Albert Belle was still wearing Indians colors

THAT'S how long it's been since the American League did not win an All-Star Game.

Ordonez was the only other player deserving.

Very nice ceremony with the HOF'ers and present players.
Only problem I have with the deal is :
IS Willie Mays the ONLY CF'er deserving to be in the HOF ?
Why are there no others there with him ?

Jimbo

Thats where I was going with it too.
That said, I think the True Justin Verlander is back on the mound and will have a great 2nd half.

Jimbo

This season will be remembered as the exception, for the best young arm in the American League. He will win a couple of Cy Young awards, just not this season.

Really ..... I hadn't considered that .

Who was on the list that they would have had out there, you think ?

Kirby Puckett was the only other possibility. If he was still alive, he'd have been with the other HOF members.

Many of them (Ty Cobb, Earle Combs, Hack Wilson, Edd Roush, etc.) have been deceased for many decades.

Zambrano picked off a runner at first base- VERY impressive.

Oh, and as for HD MM- Szemore's in, and Joe Buck called him 'one of the game's most exciting players.'

What a pitching dual so far. Either that or an offensive struggle?

Anyways, it's the top of the 5th and the score is still even at 0. Sizemore just entered the game at center for the AL.

*Edited. 1-0 NL.

If the AL can keep it close until the 6th, I still like our chances.

Reason being: The AL still have these horses in the Pen: F-Rod, Papplebon, Nathan and Mo!

How about that Greg Norman?
