2008-09 College Bowl Season

It's amazing- down the stretch, I felt LSU was playing like an absolute joke, that they only got into the Chick-Fil-A Bowl because of who they were and their reputation as LSU.

I thought LSU was going to be exposed as a big-time fraud.

BTW, interesting fact:

I read that sometimes, teams are ranked absurdly high prior to the next season based on their performance in a bowl game.

Last year, a so-so Auburn team beat a ranked Clemson team in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl and somehow were ranked in the top 10 prior to this season.

Well, we all what happened to those frauds from Auburn!

Good to see that even with a new year some things stay the same, like South Carolina sucking in football. :D

The Rose Bowl, revered by so many, has officially lost me.

I am not taking this game seriously anymore.

The Grandaddy of them All has turned into a sickening USC lovefest!

The Trojans are KILLING the Rose Bowl and its mystique.

Penn St's worst nightmare is coming true. USC has got their offense rolling. This is too easy. USC has destroyed Michigan in the past, Illinois last year, Ohio St earlier this year, and now Penn St.

Come on Sabres. You know you love the Song Girls in Pasadena. :D

THAT is why I hate the Rose Bowl- same old crap.

This reminds me of when the Orange Bowl from 1978-1989 ALWAYS had either Nebraska or Oklahoma as a representative.

BTW, this isn't a knock on USC as a whole, but against them ALWAYS in Pasadena.

If they wind up in the Fiesta, Orange, or Sugar Bowl nect year, then no problem.

If USC plays in a bowl game BESIDES the Rose Bowl, I wouldn't mind.

31-7 Trojans. Will USC go all Bob Stoops on Penn St and try to hang 60? Maybe all these beatdowns will convince the Big Ten to quit acting like the Rose Bowl is their birthright. You get them to lose the conference tie in and we get one step closer to a playoff.

Blowout or not, what does that do to USC?

Blow out a Big 10 team to conclude a season when you inexplicably lost to a team inferior to you? They gain nothing but a big, shiny trophy.

That's not their fault. The stupid BCS screws teams that don't go undefeated. USC played one bad game in Oct and then they didn't get all the "style" points that Oklahoma and Florida did. At least Pete Carroll has said that the BCS is stupid. What's more entertaining watching USC beat yet another overmatched Big Ten team into a pulp or have a playoff with Oklahoma, Florida, Texas and USC? I'll take the playoff. There's no telling who would win that. You could see this rout coming fom a mile away.

Two other things:

1. Anyone thing Oregon or would be playing as well against Penn State? Plain and simple, the Pac 10 conference is a mediocre conference that's fortunate to have USC?

2. IMO, it may be another three years before any other Pac 10 team grows a set and has the GUTS to try and possibly get into the Rose Bowl. We may be looking at another three straight Rose Bowls with those damn Trojans.

BTW, I'm not going to watch the Orange Bowl- too uninteresting.

Last year was different- Kansas was a surprise with an entertaining and exciting offensive attack.

Cincinnati is a nice story, but they are not explosive.

All in all, don't be surprised if this game is similar to the Sun Bowl dud.

I'm done on here for today. I'll be back tomorrow.

Time for College football playoffs?

Tebow coming back for more...
