Hello all,

I am trying to get one of my boxes to work at a second location.(Our other house on the river) I have all channels available and have been a customer for years. My problem is I can't get a signal locked using a Dish 500. I have the "sat in" cable run from the left side of the LNB(119 I think) right to my box. I have the azimuth, elevation & skew on but still no signal? Is there a switch of some kind needed when using one box only? In the old days I would take a box on one of my tractor-trailers and have the dish pointed in minutes, what am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am also a driver currently using a D* phase 3 but contemplating switching to E* because mounting that mammoth 5LNB dish on anything but a tripod much less pointing that thing in a short amount of time is nearly impossible. Wanting to get the new HD channels. I was wondering 3 things seeing that I know nothing about E*.

1. How easy is it to point a dish 1000.2 in a mobile configuration such as mine and the OP. My mounting foot is mounted on the mirror with U-Bolts.

2. Is there CONUS HD DNS networks available on E* on the 3 sats that the dish will be looking at.

3. Is LIL HD on these 3 birds? I do know that the D/FW SD locals are CONUS but what about HD???

Thanks in advance

Sat in is used to add a secondary dish to the switch built into the lnb, you need to use one of the sat outputs.

Right, one side has one connexor and the other has two. Connect to either of the two.

Speaking of which, I've had customers ask me if we can set up just the 24" dish for 129 hidef. (PacNW) Is this possible? Can they function decently with only 129? Or will alot of HD/updates/other content be missing?

I'm confused Gary. So I should not run the cable from the 119 side of the sat dish directly to my box?(Connected to the "Satellite In" connection on the back)

The closest I have got to getting a signal lock(Not Green but white) is about 50% on a 129 which I'm not sure why it won't lock on 119 or 110? I'm stumped. Maybe I'll have to have a contractor do it ,but I was trying not to have to sign a contract with D*** at the river house, as we are not there very often..

You have to run from any one of the outputs, input is to add another sat location to the built in switch. Depending on your receiver model, white could mean you are getting signal but not from 129. Try running from one of the outputs to a sat in on the receiver and try pointing the dish again. You should also hear a change in pitch as you get a higher signal strength.

I'll give it a try. Thank you sir.
