Are they moving locals off the 77?

With the new EA Twin LNB out it would be easier for folks to have 61.5 & 72 without the need for 77. Why require another slot just for your HD locals when nothing else is on it? (unlike 129 where CONUS HD is on there too)

But I still don't understand why new Pittsburgh locals were added to 77W when the existing ones were moved from 77W to 61.5W

My guess is the ones at 77 are nothing more than slates telling people that the locals moved to 61.5. Most people wouldn't notice unless they don't have a dish at 61.5.

Well, I noticed this morning I had a timer that showed up on both channels (61.5 and 77), plus the mapdown.

yep there are some folks when their locals were added to 77W Dish installed a single dish at 77 and tied it into the WA dish they had so they would have 77/110/119/129
This would get them on EA fully

It looks like I am one of these folks. My locals are from Charleston WV. I tuned in this morning to the locals,and only received SD channels. I have a single dish pointed at 77, I assume I can just move it around to 61.5. Greg

A timer did not fire on my locals last night. I guess this was the reason. It looks like they moved the locals from 77 to 61 to 77 back to 61? I have a wing dish pointed at 77 with my other channels coming off of 110/119/129 because I have a 522 and 722. I have to have the wing dish for my local HD channels. Now I don't know if I should repoint my dish from 77 to 61 or not. I noticed that my local channels were coming in tonight but a timer did not fire? What the heck is going on?

Crap! I hit the info button on my remote and my locals are coming in from 129 now. How is this going to affect my timers? Everything is all messed up now. I thought the local news did not look as clear as it did and I guess that would be why, it was not in HD.

you need to have a dish at 61.5

Those on 77W are just mirrors to get you to upgrade to a EA dish. PM one of the DIRT (Dish internet response team) folks. On main forum page their names are in RED. I'll also let them know about this. It should be a free install since they are moving channels around
