Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get the local channels on the 105 sat with a single dish?

I was told the west coast is using a special dish to do this.

Thanks

The special dish is called a SuperDish. It is larger than a regular E* dish, and receives its signals from 105/110/119. If you wanted a dish just pointed to 105, you can't use a regular D*, E*, or V* dish. It requires a larger dish because the satellite at 105 transmits at a lower power than 110 or 119. The experts can tell you specifically what size you need and whatever else, if you want.

The 105 bird e* uses is a FSS signal, that is the reason it cannot be a regular dish. It also has to be bore sighted so the signal is hitting the center of the dish not bouncing from one side to the other.

I am not sure what you mean by a single dish as kavula said earlier they make a superdish for 105 and 121.

Probably the EKB. Yes. You can use old primestar dishes and LNBs for 105 or 121

See ya

ONLY if the rest of your setup is Legacy LNBs and switches.

The old stuff is NOT compatible with DishPro - with one rarely useful exception.

receivers only with a DP adaptor and only certain legacy receivers are compatible with the 105 and 121 FSS birds
