...From where I sit though most of the VOOM channels were garbage, but they were only garbage because of the amount of repeats on them. They could have combined the networks and made 7 REALLY GOOD channels that had great variety. From where I sit only HDNews should be the only 24/7 channel since the mateiral is always updating.
In this day and age of the DVR they can air programming from all the channels and folks wont miss their favorite programs.
I'm one of the ones that liked having VOOM there... occasionally stumbling on something new or interesting.
That said though, hasn't VOOM now failed - not once, but twice - as currently constituted?
I know people are upset, but if it forces VOOM to consolidate to 5 really good channels with the best content across their lineup, it really is the best thing that they can do in the long run to deliver maximum value.
I don't get why so many are mad at Dish for taking away Voom. Voom was a demo package. They had a chance to make great channels with NEW content and instead aired repeats. If Voom wanted to stay on they would have spent the time building a real network. Don't blame Dish for making the obvious choice. Voom did this to them stupid selves.
The value of your post seems to be severely diluted by the nature of your avatar.Voom sucks and I'm glad that most of them will no longer be polluting my television with rerun filth.
Voom had nothing I liked...a bunch of high-brow shows with a limited market base.
Dish made the right choice for sure...I just went HD only and only did so because they added kid HD channels.
So long Voom!
Fixed.

The "we" I was referring to was my family... I believe I can speak for them.
Perhaps, but that does not take away from the fact that Voom is mostly gone and Dish is better for it.
I will now e-mail ceo@dishnetwork.com to announce my approval of their decision to rid themselves of these worthless channels.
I never watch USA or SciFi. By your logic, Dish is now a worse service for providing them in HD (mostly upconverted SD, actually), regardless of ratings.
