$10 HBO going away???

Not sure if you’re being sarcastic, but permanately changing a service’s regular rate isn’t a discount. It’s changing the rate. For everyone
Actually, if I remember when the rate changed, people who already had HBO at $19 per month got grandfathered at that rate. You had to specifically ask, or drop HBO and add it back, to get the lower rate.

Still, a “discount” is value-added to an existing price. Like $5 off Firestone tires

Changing the published rate of HBO from $20 to $15 is a rate adjustment, not a discount

I never paid $20 for HBO.

HBO was $17.99 on DirecTV back in 2016.

Back in 2013, it was $18 on Dish.

Skinemax did it about a year ago. I hadn’t notice HBO had as well. I guess they had to clean it up for the kiddies with ATT unlimited plans.

Doesn't bother me. I always thought the softcore p0rn stuff on Cinemax and HBO was kinda silly anyway. Carefully placed furniture and hands covered all the right spots so you couldn't really ever see much :D

DISH was selling HBO for $19.00 a couple of years ago. That is when I got the $10.00 for "life" promo when they offered it. OF course "for life" has little meaning in DISH speak.

HBO is $17 per month on the mom and pop cable company here. And that is with NO HD feed, just SD on digital cable.

In marketing speak, "lifetime" or "for life" means for the life of the promotion. In other words: until they no longer want to honor it. The sooner we all come to terms with that, they happier we'll all be.
