06/07 Stanley Cup Champs?

Calgary played like the beat down team they are. Game was out of hand, so they resorted to the only thing left: physically beat on your opponent. What happened yesterday was unexusable. I'm sure suspensions will follow, but this was as low as it gets. Red Wings will finish it today.

Wow, I must say the financial fine was heavy to calgary, but deserved in the fact that it had no place in the game. If the wings did the same thing, I would feel the same way. I am all for the occasional fights in hockey (I'm an old school hockey kind of guy), but cheap shots and ANYTHING with a stick involved is completely unforgivable.

yes, and calgary is showed they are mentally and apparently physically worn out with the way they handled themselves yesterday. Tonight's game "should" wrap it up. I think the fine and suspension will weigh on their minds a bit.

I was un able to see yesterdays game and while watching SportsCenter Melrose talked about the suspensions, but they never did show it ... So I don't have any idea if it was as bad as it sounds, with the fines and all.

I reality it should not hurt Calgary anyways seeing McLennen will not play tonight anyways.

Oh I don't think the suspensin will directly impact their game at all unless kippy gets hurt, but mentally knowing how the NHL cracked down could wear on them a bit.

Going into OT tied at 1-1.

Iginila for Calgary
Lang for the Wings

Cleary clanked one off the post with under 2 minutes to go in regulation.

So far .........

Go Wings

2nd OT

Still 1-1 of course

Calgary killed off a 4 minute PP, Wings killed a 2 minute PP

Holstrom sent to the hospital as he was hit with a high stick, bleeding bad enough that they were unable to stop it and stitch it.
As you hockey fans know, it takes a lot to get someone off the ice when they are hurt, a few stitches and they are usually back out there.

Hit appeared to be close to the eye, possibly the forehead hopefully.

Wings win in 2 OT !!!
Franzen scores and the Wings.
They move on to either beat Dallas next or lose to San Jose

IMO, Don't see them beating San Jose.

Franzen extracts revenge! Got to hand it to Kipper, the Wings threw everything but the kitchen sink at him, and he handled it all. (55 saves). As for the next rd.( Posssibly, San Jose) that was then and this now. Last night's win was a big confidence builder, proving we can win a hard fought series. I see it as a building block for the next series, just as the Wing's last 3 opponents in the playoffs used their victories in the playoffs to get them to the finals. Actually I fear the Stars more. (Similar team to Calgary, without the stupid penalties).

Fear the Stars ?????

They STILL have Turco, even though he's played well this playoff so far.

I always find that the 1st round is always a crapshoot, and once you get into the 2nd round the better the hockey gets.

After so many first round exits, I'm just glad to see the Wings in the second r
ound. Four wins down, twelve to go.

GO WINGS!

What do you think is going to happen next on Cubs land?

Yankees tied for last place in the EAST!!
