you are right, i just leave mine set at 720 and it changes the screen according to the transmission. HD is in full widescreen on my LCD and SD gives me the bars on the side, as I don't like the stretch mode. It does this automatically.

there is a rumour that the 505's will be getting an updated firmware starting on the 7th. of course, it is still just a rumour, but, you can check in your system status to see if it is scheduled for an update. it will say target version: and then a firmware version number if it is to be...

To reboot the 505, just turn off and hold the power button on the receiver,not the remote, in for about 10 seconds and it will reboot itself. Otherwise, unplug the power cord for about a minute. That should do a reboot. Did u lose power to the receiver for a while? Maybe it hasn't reloaded...

thanx damaged. i just ran a system test and all the results came back as check connections, except for when i run the test with it on the preview channel (100) it comes back all ok. so is this a cabling, pointing problem? sorry to be asking so many questions.
