2013 MLB Postseason

I actually think the Braves have overachieved this year, just like the Giants did last year. That could mean they continue to overachieve through the playoffs.

You don't hear me blaming the Tigers struggles on Miguel Cabrera being hurt for the last 3 months, A. Jackson was down for extended periods of time this year, Avila's been beat up all year, Prince hasn't hit this year with all the off field stuff going on.
They lost thier Starting SS half way thru the year, been playing LF Roulette all year ....
Verlander hasn't been himself most of the year ....

See, all teams have issues and injuries to deal with at this time of year.
That's right. No team is 100% healthy now. If a guy can't play through the pain, someone else has to step up...

Nelson Cruz is back in the Rangers lineup today.

I just saw that, and I'm very surprised. I thought the suspension was for the rest of the regular season, and tonight's game is STILL the regular season.

As was the case with all previous MLB tiebreakers, stats from tonight's Rays-Rangers game counts towards the regular season.

If nothing else, the Rangers are getting David Price's pitch count up early.

...and the Rays will be wasting their best pitcher before the WC game. If they happen to win both, then they'll waste their two best before the ALDS. This will give your Sox a huge advantage if they play the Rays.

I'm glad they aren't doing any of those 8pm west coast game start times like they have in the past.

Now you're coming around. It's just another benefit of achieving HFA!!! :up

Ouch. The Tigers first two games are at 9:30 and 9:00pm eastern. That is to be expected playing at Oakland but it's still tough on us eastern time zone people.
