Peyton Manning

ALL indications are showing that the Titans are the front runners. Good offensive line, decent weapons, salary cap space, good weather and a location he is familiar with.

This is the place with his best chance of winning right away with the supporting cast.

Great RB in Johnson, I bet he has a career year if Manning signs with them.

IMO Chiefs have better weapons, defense, and easier division to win and the cap room to afford Manning and continue adding players at positions of need (RT, NT, LB and depth at skill positions). Biggest issue with the team is consistency, starting with the QB position, then injuries.

With Bowe, Balwdin, Breaston, McCluster, Moeaki, Charles, now with Hillis added and talking to Kevin Boss, it's obvious weapons and a winnable division aren't the primary criteria if he wasn't even willing to meet with Kansas City.

I would say the main advantage they have is winnable division and deep pockets. I think talent wise, they are close to pretty even.

a strong indication that manning is going to denver.peyton is in durham and broncos are heading there from denver. see told ya he wasn't coming her :D

 its funny how some down here were still hoping he would come when its obvious we have nothing to offer manning.

They were out of the running looks like from day 1...

Miami Dolphins had to enlist Dan Marino to get a meeting with Peyton Manning

by Ben Volin

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross wanted Peyton Manning in the worst way, and it's hard to blame him. Manning is possibly the best and most intriguing free agent in NFL history, and would have solved multiple problems for the Dolphins – filling the 13-year hole at franchise quarterback, and bringing fans back to Sun Life Stadium.

And as long as the Dolphins get Matt Flynn, then no harm, no foul in their pursuit of Manning. It was definitely worth the shot. But Ross and general manager Jeff Ireland should've realized by last weekend that they wouldn't be a finalist for Manning, who according to ESPN will choose between Denver and Tennessee. NFL Network reported Friday morning that Manning personally contacted the Dolphins on Thursday to inform them he won't be playing in Miami next year.

Dolphins management, it turns out, had to enlist the help of Dan Marino just to secure a meeting with Manning, a source with direct knowledge of the situation told the Post.

The Dolphins' brass did not deal with Manning directly and was frustrated last week when it could not pin down a meeting with him through his agents at Creative Artists Agency (CAA).

With the clock ticking, the Dolphins asked Marino – their legendary former quarterback and a golfing partner of Manning's – to call him personally over the weekend to persuade him to meet with the team. Marino did, and was able to secure a five-hour meeting between Manning and the Dolphins on Monday.

But the location of the meeting – and the parties involved – should have been the second indication for Dolphins management that Manning wasn't seriously considering them.

The Dolphins' meeting was the only one of the four done by Manning not to take place in the team's city. Manning flew to Tennessee, Denver and Arizona to tour their facilities and meet with players, coaches and executives. His meeting with the Dolphins on Monday was conducted in his hometown of Indianapolis, and with only coach Joe Philbin and other members of the coaching staff present – not Ireland or Ross

i said it that miami having to go to him was a bad sign. showed no interest on his part. at least the few level headed fin fans realized that at the time while others kept dreaming on.

Being reported that the 49ers have surfaced as a mystery team in the Manning race. Before working out for the Broncos last week he worked out for the 49ers and took a physical last Tuesday that was successfully kept a secret until now.

It is being reported by Chris Mortinson that Peyton met, worked out, and took a physical for the 49ers before he met with the Bronco's.
