i hope you're right bud. And by the way, where are the tebow fans today?????
Pretty quiet.......

LOL well I was one who said he would never succeed in the NFL, but I do think I can be proven wrong.

That said, I will defend Tebow to some extent. There is a thought from NFL people that because Elway and Fox did not draft Tebow, they have no personal stake in whether he succeeds or not. That the groundswell in Denver is that Fox had almost no choice but to start Tebow, and Fox may have lost the keys to the cart a little bit here.

Some think Tebow is not being put in the best position to succeed, so that Fox can say 'see, he's not ready' after a game like yesterday...and Fox can get control of the QB position again.

True? False? Probably some of each. The question is how much of each. ;)

I think you'd be pretty hard pressed outside of an interception-fest to find 6-ish quarters played by a QB this year worse than Tebow's performances the last 2 games.

One thing is for sure, if teams played the prevent all day/every game he'd be a HoF QB.

As for comparing him to JaMarcus, Tebow put up more yards yesterday than JaMarcus did in 10 of his last 16 games in Oakland (his 3rd season there...). Tebow has also already thrown more TDs in 2 games (4) than Russell did (3) that season. So no, declaring Tebow better than Russell has little/no basis on reality.

At least Tebow could actually do something in garbage time.

I think a lot of the conspiracy theories are way off base (as they often are). They often overlook the many throws he's flat out missing, and problems with his mechanics that are highlighted over and over and over during the games he plays. Could he use more help? Sure, the whole team could, but when you're throwing it behind guys because your feet aren't set properly and don't convert the 4th down... conspiracy theories need not apply. If his mechanics were better and he was more consistent then the defense would actually have to play the pass and he wouldn't have as much pressure. A Lions player said exactly that on the radio after the game, their gameplan worked out perfectly... stop the run and make him throw, and it yielded their biggest road point total since 1967.

i'd say pretty much all of that is true. he's not being put in the best position possible to succeed when the guy hasn't even started his first game this season and you trade one of your top if not your top wr. and like you said, elway and fox did not draft this kid but they are being fair by giving him a deserved opportunity. we all deserve an opportunity at one time or another at a chance to prove ourselves with one thing or another. they need to leave him there until the season ends. the results at the end of the season will shut up the haters and the apologists. we will have more than enough to judge him.

even though he's not being put at the best possible position to win, you can still see right through those circumstances and honestly its not looking well for the kid. of course we'll know for sure soon. if i were him, i would not shut the door on the possibility of playing another position. maybe TE. i don't think it would be in denver. it would have to be with a coach willing to take up on that project.

I don't think he will ever be a good QB. He is a good college qb but not pros
goes to show you that winning in college and winning a heisman don't mean jack sh**........... when it comes to being successful in the NFL .

having said all that i think its only fair to give him more time. but after this season is done with, i hope he doesn't expect for someone else to give him another shot at the QB position.

I disagree, there are a lot of athletes that are very religious so I don't think they would put down a player because he is religious.

Agreed. This has more to do with the jealousy some players are feeling for the attention he and his team is getting. I feel bad for the the kid because all of the attention he is getting is not of his doing. IF it were up to him, he would not want te attention. The fans in Denver are desperate for a franchise QB in the same manner as the Miami Dolphins. Both team have really had nothing in terms of a QB worth spit and are clinging to anything that might have the hint to a franchise QB.

As we've witnessed, it has everything to do with his ability (or lack thereof) at the NFL level. We're now seeing what the coaches saw in practice and why he wasn't named a starter before now.

Josh Hamilton credited his faith for his big game 6 HR the other night. I haven't seen any religious criticisms about him on that.

But Josh has been successful. Tebow has not. Hamilton is probably a top 15 or top 20 player. Tebow is PROBABLY not even a top 10 player on his own team. I am sure that once he does become successful...the mocking with stop.

Seeing that we are splitting hairs.....let me RE-PHRASE the statement to better fit what I was trying to say:

At this point, RIGHT NOW...don't know about the future...but RIGHT NOW.... Tebow is a worse QB than Jamarcus Russell was for the Raiders at the early stages of his career

I think the jealousy from the players is that Tebow is getting 1st round money for 4th round talent.

Based on what? I'm not splitting hairs, im presenting a factual argument. You're presenting... italics and colored fonts?

The Lions crushing teams on the road and talking smack?

Remember only a few years ago, they could NEVER win games on the road.

This is their 6th straight road win- they had just 8 road wins in the Matt Millen era!
