There are very few 32+ year old QB's I'd take over Luck. The hysteria around him is more of the 'build franchise around him, generational talent' variety, not the usual 'best QB in the draft' debate. I haven't been able to see a lot of his play, but what I have seen has made me an irrational fan of his (kind of like The Insider and Tebow).

Admitting you have a problem is the first step...

I have seen some of games ONLY because the local radio guys down here have an absolute man-crush on this guy. Personally and even BEFORE JaMarcus Russell, something about putting the most important position of a football team on a kids shoulder to "save a franchise" is a recipe for failure. Personally, if possible, I would rather slowly groom your QB. But that is not always possible.

So your saying, go with unproven, younger player than the established possible yet older player....? Ok...

Everything being equal, yes absolutely. But again (and I realize we're speaking in hypotheticals), the Raiders aren't in a position to be in the Luck discussion. If this were say Miami we were talking about, it would've been beyond stupid to make this move. With the Raiders it's not so black and white (giving up the draft picks), there is a big grey area considering where they are in the standings.

According to Adam Schefter, the Ronnie Brown to Detroit Lions trade is now null and void because Jerome Harrison had health issue.....ouch.

Q. Seeing the deal was made BEFORE the Trade deadline, are they allowed to work it out, or is it just a No Go ?

If the Lions don't have Brown as an option, I think it will hurt them in the long run, even thou they are planning to start Morris this weekend.

Good question...it did not say.

According to PFT, Rex Ryan stated that "if San Diego would have hired me as coach in 2007, I would have a couple rings by now...."

Norv fires back, "..where are the Super Bowl rings you guarenteed the last 2 years...?"

LMAO....! Touche Norv...

You sure like agreeing to disagree don't you??

The thing is, I don't even see anyone agreeing to that, except you.....

Time to move on.....

;)

I am trying MY best to avoid to start the vortex of multiple pages. If I do not agree with you, I will make my point a couple times....and if we still do not agree...then I will agree to disagree and try to move. If you don't want to...its on you and not me to move on.

Rey, I still remember the Dolphins-Pats game in Foxboro in 1984. Marino just absolutely destroyed a pretty good Pats team (they were 5-2 going into the game). IIRC, Marino put up 50 points, but he could've named the score. The Pats simply had no answers to stop that machine.

It was so bad that after the game Pats head coach Ron Meyer fired DC Rod Rust. The next day the Sullivan family reinstated Rust, fired Meyer and named Raymond Berry HC.

Bottom line, Dan Marino was one of the all-time greats!!
bill another thing to add to your post is that people talk about how the single season TD record fell and how the single season yards record will fall this season but remember how dan set those records in only one season. something that no other qb has done. more yards and more td's but in one season by the same qb. so when you consider how offenses back then weren't favored like they are now to put up big numbers, and in our case we had no defense and no running game so teams would prepare for this guy every game year after year, everyone always knew we were going to pass and yet they couldn't stop HIM says a lot about his individual accomplishments. i'm still amazed how we were even able to make it to that SB just riding on marinos arm that year. Rodgers reminds me so much of marino except that rodgers can run which marino couldn't yet he had excellent movement in the pocket and was usually the least sacked qb almost every season. Rodgers is definitely my favorite QB in the league.he's a real pleasure to watch. plays the position as a QB should.and i'm glad he got his ring early. just get one more so you can crush you know who :D

Well the difference between Luck and Tebow is Tebow has won championships at every level of the game (except his current level which he just entered) And Tebow has broken several SEC records and a heisman under his belt.

I liked Norv's response, though I tend to side a little more towards Rex's view... coaching has prevented that team from being more successful.

Or lack there of? But to state HE would have...quite arrogant when he has not done the same in NY.
