He could still face punishment from the league as well though under the personal conduct policy.

Steelers still aren't going to be all forgiving either 'OH OK! So maybe it WAS a consensual sexual act in a locked bathroom guarded by your posse, whew.'

No, I'm not expecting there to be NO consequences and YES the league may still step in as well.

The league will get ALOT of pressure from it's black players that they ALSO suspend him for "personal conduct". IF he does not, ALOT of the leagues black players will immediately assume there is a double standard in the NFL. Then it would get REALLY ugly.:(

Don't you think the NFL Players union will go after the NFL for suspending Ben for nothing. No Jail time and no files charged, yeah he is acting like a immature kid but last time I checked that's not against the law.

All the other players who were suspended were proven guilty, had facts that tied them to the crime or admitted to it, just because they are black doesn't make it right to go after Ben for a crime that he wasn't found guilty of because he is white.

I said from the beginning I will wait to see what happens and there will be no charges filed, either Ben is very unlucky because women are making accusations against him or he is very lucky because the women can't prove what he did, either way we will never know the facts and according to our laws he is innocent of any of the crimes that he was accused of.

I am sure the big dumb thug will get away with it, again.

At Least Tiger didn't have to force himself on women, yet this clown Rapeburger gets a free pass for the media, especially the giant fraud in Bristol.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that no charges are being filed.

But it didn't stop the DA from ripping him to shreds and planting a seed in Goodells' head......

Bright said he received a letter from the accuser, whose name has not been revealed, several weeks after the incident saying she did not want to proceed with prosecution.

But Bright also laid out a series of tawdry and troubling details gleaned from the investigation that cast Roethlisberger's behavior in an unflattering light and which could factor into N.F.L. Commissioner Roger Goodell's decision whether to discipline him. Goodell is expected to meet with Roethlisberger this week and he has the latitude to suspend Roethlisberger for violating the N.F.L.'s personal-conduct policy.

Even if Goodell does not discipline Roethlisberger, the Steelers could.

Bright said Roethlisberger, after a night of bar-hopping with his friends, provided alcohol to the alleged victim and her sorority sisters. She and Roethlisberger had both been drinking, Bright said, and they had met at different bars during the course of the evening. Some of their conversations were of a sexual nature, Bright said.

Roethlisberger's group ended up in the V.I.P. area of one club, and when the woman and her friends arrived, he invited them to the V.I.P. area and bought shots of alcohol.

"Everyone agrees that the victim was highly intoxicated," Bright said. Later, Bright said, one of Roethlisberger's bodyguards escorted the woman down a back hallway and Roethlisberger followed her into a small bathroom — Bright said it was less than five feet wide.

"Significant questions about what occurred persist," Bright said.

Roethlisberger Will Not Face Assault Charges - NYTimes.com

I can see Goodell mind churning now....'You won't prosecute for stupid conduct, but don't worry...I will CLEARLY do that for you.....'

Goodell is gonna eat him alive IMHO.

Civil suit in 3... 2... 1...

Much lower burden of proof, and I think it should be easily proven that she was in a locked door guarded by Ben's posse since those were facts of this investigation from what I understand. He'll probably quickly settle it.

Or perhaps he's settled with her already? Alleged victim said on March 17 that she wanted to drop the case | ProFootballTalk.com

That is what it smells like to me. But we shall see. Either way you look at, good ole Dumb Ben is in deep sh**!:(

Yep...some people are able to buy their way out of trouble and others are able to charm their way out of trouble. But I suspect that Roethlisberger shall once again find trouble (some people are just drawn to it) in a hole too deep to crawl out of.

Ben is going to address the media for the first time since the incident shortly.

Watching it on NFLN on my Droid :)

What can he really say 'i messed up for a 3rd consecutive offseason, my bad' ?

Heh, he said he wants to be a "role model to kids"

.....not my kids.

Just a pre-written 'say all the right things' statement w/ no questions.

Nice mullet btw Ben, you even look like a 2x accused sexual offender now.

I wonder if the media will blast him the way the blasted Tiger for the same thing...
While the media has every right to blast Woods, a firing squad has every right to blast Roethlisberger should he ever be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Seriously, while Woods conduct may have crossed many lines of reasonable conduct...Ben makes Tiger look like choir boy.

Hey guy's, what Tigers did, happens all the time in Pro sports, many in each city they arrive.
Same as it is with Rock Stars.
Just because it's not thrown out to the media doesn't mean it's not happening.

On the Ben side of things, maybe she wanted him and he cooperated
She brought charges because it didn't go like she wanted ..... also found a way to make a bunch of money . sad as it may be.
