"Your conduct has brought embarrassment and ridicule upon yourself, your club, and the NFL, and has damaged the reputation of players throughout the league."

When was this, I thought that Goodall hasn't said anything about it yet ?

This was not said to ole Ben ...this was said to Pac-Man Jones before any verdict came from a jury and more than likely, the same was said to Micheal Vick before the jury came witha verdict on him.

Sorry, didn't mean to confuse.:o

Gotcha,
I thought someone had said that Goodall had said that to Ben now.
Seeing I have to work, and don't have internet access readily available, I thought I might have missed something.

Like the other incident, all that is being debated in this case is consent. DNA, rape kits, etc, none of this is really necessary. The non-intercourse sexual contact was reportedly admitted by both parties. It's all the other details that are pretty condemning.... she was somehow injured, her friend(s) tried to go to her but were not allowed to by both the (offduty cop) bodyguard and the locked bathroom door...

Between Holmes' and Ben's troubles, Steelers fans better hope 'Dixon to Sweed' can keep the team relevant this season. The team has had nearly a dozen off the field incidents in recent memory, sweeping thugs out of the franchise and making excuses/tolerating their big names doing the same thing.

I believe Sweed has been released or soon to be ....

Yes, AFTER a decision was made to press charges or not...

He definitely needs to make a change in his life and straighten up.

For those complaining that Goodall hasn't suspended Ben or anything else yet, it was mentioned this morning on the Mike & Mike show that all the people that Goodall has given suspensions to were already CHARGED with a crime.

Ben has NOT.

That said, Ben does need to shape up quickly .

Roethlisberger case goes to the D.A.

According to the Associated Press, the case has been referred to District Attorney Fred Bright. Bright will eventually decide based on the investigation whether to present the matter to a grand jury.

An indictment of Roethlisberger, even if not followed by a conviction, will likely wreak havoc on his pro football career. He could be suspended indefinitely pending resolution of the case, just as Mike Vick was suspended indefinitely upon indictment in 2007.

Ben will not be charged (which means there isn't enough evidence to charge him, not that nothing inappropriate didn't happen).

Will be interesting to see what the NFL/Steelers do now.

This will be official on Monday - [ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5071769"]Sources: Ben Roethlisberger will not be charged - ESPN[/ame]

IF, he's not charged with anything, I would imagine the Steelers would welcome him back to camp (if it's still going on) and sit down with him and have a long talk with him.

He could still face punishment from the league as well though under the personal conduct policy.

Steelers still aren't going to be all forgiving either 'OH OK! So maybe it WAS a consensual sexual act in a locked bathroom guarded by your posse, whew.'

No, I'm not expecting there to be NO consequences and YES the league may still step in as well.

The league will get ALOT of pressure from it's black players that they ALSO suspend him for "personal conduct". IF he does not, ALOT of the leagues black players will immediately assume there is a double standard in the NFL. Then it would get REALLY ugly.:(

PFT and others are getting curious about the ESPN report that Ben isn't going to be charged, as there has been no confirmation by the DA who says they'll announce their decision Monday at 2pm and no other sources have come forward to confirm it either. Others have also pointed out ESPN is the one who said Vick is not expected to be charged the same day he was charged.

Monday could be interesting, and I wonder how long until the civil suit is filed.

Jim Carrey on Twitter:

My people called and said I might have to tame my tweets a little. So here goes...I'm going to make a sandwich now. peanut butter.(sigh) ;^\

##

Well, I ate my inoffensive sandwich with an acceptable glass of milk and took the dogs out, while avoiding any controversial thought--->

##

...then I was sexually assaulted by Ben Roethlisberger! I can't be certain but it sure looked like him! Good thing I'm a Steelers fan! ;^B

Hmmm, I thought it was PFT that broke the No Charges talk earlier.
