My Openbox S9 after many years of use is just blinking on and off with the red dot. I was thinking of replacing it with a low cost HD-S2 unit but my son thinks I should get a 4K dvb with blind scan, (we don't even have a 4K TV). I was looking and saw Zgemma H7 UHD wondering if anyone has tested it, or some other 4K type that has blind scan? I was just going to buy a Amiko HD.265 and not have to buy a new TV as well. On a side note I'm burning oil for the fist time in years. :(

While I don't have that particular model I can say that the Amiko boxes are good quality and easy to use. If you buy from KE4EST at Store he will give you great U.S. customer support as well. If you decide to go with a 4K box I would take a look at the Vu Plus Zero 4K which is highly recommend by Titanium. More about it in this thread. :)

4K FTA HD Receivers?

If you decide to go 4K read the thread that FTA4PA linked above. I think that will help you make a decision on that. Also, there is not a ton of 4K programming out there yet and will be a few more years before it is the norm. Your son is probably wanting you to get the latest and greatest and I know how that can be. He probably also has DISH or DirecTV or cable or something. :D
If you decide to go with the H.265, you will enjoy that also. It is a great basic receiver that works good and doesn't have the lip sync issues and such the openboxes did.

Not sure this box has "Blind Scan" capabilities? Looked at one on fleabay and noticed that function was MISSING in the description? Just saying..........................

I was looking at a site in Canada see below. I thinking the Amiko HD.265 for now. I'm in no rush we have off air antennas with Netflix. They fell like put the money towards the 4K type now verses later.

"Note: This receiver is programmed with software blindscan for c-band, ku-band and dbs satellite signals. Find those 4K wild feeds today!"

I have the HD.265 and it's a great little box. Does everything I want it to do...very reliable.

It is an Enigma 2 OS receiver, so it is capable of displaying any data if one of the open source development groups writes the code.

Join an Enigma image group and code EIA-608/708 if you want the function. If no one writes the code for this open source system, you simply enjoy the function and features that others want... Doubt it will happen on its own as the majority of Enigma users/development groups are outside the US.
