XBox 360 Elite Coming.... HDMI Out, 120GB drive, HDMI cable for $479

I got my PS3 and 360 (both premiums) from Costco.
So if M$ decided to get a new version..ahah no hassle for me..i just go in and tell them my 360 makes way too much noise..and they give me back what i paid for including taxes...means i can get a brand new one...and M$ gets the old shatty model back.

Again, its a fact that my 360 makes alot of noise, am i happy with it no? Hell i got a friend of mine after 2 months getting his 360 from there..and guess what? Same problem, same noise...what does that tell you? They have 2 pallets of 360's stacked up and im sure 90% are the same ones and there won't be a fix to it, unless they send back 2 pallets back to M$ and try to get 2 new pallets, which i dubt they will do, so as of now i am holding back to get the newer 360 hoping it would be quiter, and i don't mind paying the extra money...how is that supposed to be cheating? Explain it to me.

No matter how YOU look at it, it is cheating Costco, especially when there are rumors that people who already have a 360 may be able to upgrade for a fee. You avoiding an upgrade fee is indeed cheating no matter how you look at it. It's people like you retailers all the way up to the manufacturer raise prices. They all lose money except you because you didn't want to pay a small fee.

You are lucky you live in the US. This is one of the very few (3 maybe) countries that allow you to do this crap. Try it in most foreign countries you buy it, it is yours forever. No refunds only exchanges for the same EXACT thing. You can TRY your Costco trick, but I doubt you will be exchanging it for the elite system since they will still have the premium SKU in production.

In my opinion Costco should adopt the same 30 day return period like all other retailers.

I pay for products that actually work, i don't pay for products that don't work properly...Im sure you don't pay for something that makes alot noise while you watch movies or play games.

And no i am not avoiding the upgrade fee...I would still have to pay the difference...im sure the 360 premium costs less than the elite..so there is about 80$ difference + taxes.

I agree that Costco's extremely generous return policy encouraged abuse. The fact that more people didn't abuse the system surprises me.

Nevertheless, 90 days is still triple what you will get in most places.

i don't know what you are referring to with neutron, but if something is deleted here, there is most likely a very good reason for it.

I don't know if it was that they were honest, or that they didn't know how to beat the system as well as the others did (surprising since most deals tipped heavily in the direction of the consumer explode over the internet and get snapped up by thousands... witness the Starbucks coupon fiasco from last year).

OK...I have a question about the possible upgrade to the new and improved 360. Has there been a confirmation about upgrading? I would love to upgrade mine. I'm hoping that MS offers it to all 360 owners. 120 gig hard rive is what should have been sold with the 360 from the start. I'm always struggling with space on the 20 gig hard drive.

I read a rumour on one site that it would happen and cost $200, but haven't seen anything since. Worst case, you can always go to Gamestop/EBGames and trade it in. I don't know how much they are offering these days for tradeins....

Rumours abound that the standalone harddrive upgrade will come with a data transfer cable to port over all your content. The cable might also be available separately, but no confirmation yet...

If ur 360 is doing fine with no loud noise/freeze/ there is no reason to trade it in...the 120gb HD should be out as soon as the new elite hits the shelves.
