some guy once claimed you could open .ssu files in linux, but I never could.I think I googled .ssu and found that remark. Is the operating system Linux or some propitiatory system?
Here is one called Set Edit 100 from Germany that I bought for the OpenBox S-9 and also used it on the Manhattan. It costs about $30 for the registered version, but there is a free trial download that is limited to about 10 channel edits to test on your box. It seems to work on most ALI chipsets, someone with a X2 might give it a try.
Oh, bummer! For a second or two, I thought I was going to edit my sat list with an editor that would work. The X2 is NOT an Ali chipset.
OK, so I backed up the X2 to USB and put the stick in the computer. Started the X2 editor and went through every possible location you could open a *.ssu file. All I get is an error message box that states: "The file type is not supported by this tool!" Really!
So, for anyone that has managed to get this editor to work, how do you get it to load the backup file and where in all the various locations in that editor?

you don't load the backup file, you load the database file you save.OK, so I backed up the X2 to USB and put the stick in the computer. Firmware that was on X2 is Sept. 17, 2013.Why do you want to edit a backup?? Really!!! you need to have a DATABASE backup. If you have an old database backup you will need to load that file to the box and them make a new fresh DATABASE backup. The latest channel editor supports only backups from the last 2 firmware versions.

Editor is the one from Carlospr43 post #8. Is that and old version or a new one?
OK. Found where to backup DATABASE.
Many attempts to load file ended up with an interesting error: "Parse Relation Table error, Network Number(LogicIdx16318, re(Idx150) > max number(200)"
Many attempts with rs232 on different OS on different computers and different cables ended up with no connection.
I am still baffled on how you got this editor to work.

Thanks carlospr43!:
It was the editor that was having a fit.
I uninstalled the editor and installed the one you posted.
I used the file I had saved earlier today and it loaded in a few seconds.
NOW I have something to work with......and have some fun with....
