This NFL season is not going to be the greatest of seasons yet D* is charging customers like it is going to be.

With the lockout still not resolved yet, training camps are behind, team organization is behind, players don't have playbooks, free agency can't even start yet, who knows what shape the players are going to be in when camps open, we are about a month out from regular season staring yet the players have yet to practice as a full team. This season is going to be a cluster you know what!

Yet D* wants to increase the price of the season???? I don't get it! It's always the fans who lose out!

A black eye for D*, imo! Hope their Sunday ticket subscriptions tank this season.

Is this your first day here ?

Has GAS prices went down under $ 1.50 yet ?
Has the cost of Coffee gone down yet ?

Why do you think that D* should lower prices, they had nothing to do with this lockout.

Your no longer paying $ 100 a year for HD, look at it as a $ 100 savings right there.

There's a whole thread in here where people are getting significant discounts off the Sunday Ticket package.

By the way, 49 days from today is opening night. The time from when college practice starts to their first game is 29 days.....I think the professionals can be ready for week 1 in the NFL season.

Direct TV bid $4 billion dollars for the 4 year Sunday Ticket extension....you think they will automatically lower the price because camps are 2 weeks late?

If you don't like the price, pick up the phone and cancel your ST.I have had many complaints with DTV in the past, but none of them concern pricing. If I think the price is wrong,I just don't pay it. We all make a decision as to what we want to watch and how much we will pay.Try and find every game on some other provider.

Nice to see the D* staff all posting in here. Many NFL teams have chosen to keep their ticket prices the same as the previous season due to the lockout. Others have not raised their prices in 3 years, yet D* continues to raise their Sunday ticket price. Gotta love it!

As far as "people are getting significant discounts off the Sunday Ticket package" there is no rhyme or reason people are given discounts, why not just adjust the price accordingly for everyone? I have a friend who has had D* for 10 years, has ordered the Sunday ticket for as long as he can remember yet he called to talk to them about the letter he received concerning the automatic billing and the price. No discount offered to him. Yet another buddy who is on his third year with D* and the Sunday ticket called and will be receiving a monthly $10 discount for 5 months. Why? What do they base who they give a discount to on?

A lot of fans are put off by both the players and the teams because of the greed shown by each. Many football buddies of mine are equally mad about D* raising their price for this season. I really hope it translates into a horrible buy rate for the Sunday Ticket.

No one is forcing you to pay it either. If you don't like it, stop bitching about it and dump it already. It couldn't be simpler. You're talking about the most expensive professional sport in the world to watch in any form, and a package that has ALWAYS had the worst dollar to game ratio by far.

How about a little cheese with that whine? Just be a man and cancel Direct TV....stand up and fight the mighty corporation.

Whats happened here is one friend of yours that got the ST (guy with the letter sent to him) He got a letter stating how much the ST would be ? I have not seen this letter yet, anyways, when he called, did he ASK for any break on the cost ?
Doesn't sound like it.
Your other buddy, clearly ASKED and got a savings.
They are not gonna offer a savings if you don't at least inquire, why would they ?

Do you get ST? Did you use to get it but dropped because of the price? Or are you just complaining to help out your buddies. Just trying to figure out where you're coming from? I'm gong to keep it because I'm an NFL junkie and have to have my "fix". Unfortunately there are a lot of us so I think ST sales will be fine. I will call and try to get a discount and probably will succeed , but if I don't I'll pay their price. I'm not going to do without as some kind of a protest. I'm 71 years old and don't have too many seasons left so I sure don't want to miss one over a few bucks.

I admit it's a costly package, but if your a die hard and you want to catch some big matchups I think it's worth it. Though I myself am weighing If I renew this year

Man is it just me or does the new DIRECTV television ads sound like they say that the NFL Sunday Ticket is now included....

(Of course in REALLY small letters on the screen it says for new customers only.)

I wish they wouldn't advertise like that because I KNOW we are going to get a bunch of unhappy folks here with the season kicks off and they dont get their Football because they thought it was now included...

Yes, that is what it says, I caught that a few weeks back.
However, like you said, it's a "New Sub Only" thing....
You would think they would do something for the long time subs without calling in, but they figure you'll call if you don't like the price.

I called to cancel Sunday Ticket. I was transferred to their "Sunday Ticket Cancellation Department." I was ready for some serious dealing. The best I got was an offer for a one time $50 credit, and I cancelled.

I like the college game much more than the NFL. There is just so much more variety on offenses. I initially got Sunday Ticket in 2007 because the HD was so beautiful. DirecTV really does a good job giving the games plenty of bandwidth (which I think that mandated by the NFL in their contract), and the networks now have cameras seemingly everywhere. That having been said, the greed of the modern day professional athlete (and owner) is just nauseating to me, and I didn't want to be a part of their revenue stream any more.

No the D* long timer friend said he asked if they would give him a better price for being a long time customer and subscriber to the Sunday ticket. They told him they couldn't. First time he ever asked for a better price for the ST. He has been fine paying regular price all these years for ST but the letter and pricing for this season really got him mad. Now he is even more mad, and is thinking about dropping D* all together over it.

As for the pricing... I get it! Don't like the price don't buy it. But no matter how you spin it the price for this season is absurd. And we can count on it to go up every season.

I figured, my fav team probably on the low side has 3-4 games televised nationally. Last year I pretty much just watched their games on the ST. That's about 30 bucks a game. Maybe not too bad when you consider it like that, and it's a whole lot less then going to a live game. But in reality for the fans who only really get ST to watch their team a ppv format of $14.99 or even $19.99 per game would be awesome! For $335 they should be throwing in the ST on the go with it. It's all about options. Give us fans more options. They offer one thing at a pretty expensive price, either take it or leave it. Not really the type of company looking to satisfy their customers.

This is truly a anti-competitive agreement. You know who loses out on these type of deals.... the consumer!

I would say that you guys need to hold off we have only early pre lock out pricing no early bird or renewal pricing in there . DTV said that even the regualr pricing would change if a whole season was not to be played. I thought you all were mature enough to realize that.

You think they are going to miss a regular season game? No chance.....doubt they miss anything after the Hall of Fame preseason game. This deal will get done before the US debt ceiling deal.
