Just use the search engine, every time HDMI is mentioned there seems to be a great debate. I'm going to try to make this as simple as I can. For the most part most people agree that OTA is the best HD available. Better than from any provider. So, how do we get OTA? I think we all know we get it from coax. Which on the pecking order of cables stands at the bottom. Maybe one day, HDMI may live up to all the hype, but not yet. Maybe HDMI 1.3, or whatever is in the future is beyond that.

That is what I am talkin about the 1.3. Screw any other HDMI. I do believe that there is too much of BS about HDMI. If everything makes it 1.3 then it will be great, but for now my receiver and hd dvd player are 1.3 and the sound is better than anything else out there. The fuss is that receivers have just recently went 1.3 and there are not that many models out with it. I had to drive 120 miles to get mine but it was worth it. Denon AVR-2808

Sorry but HDMI makes a big difference. Weather it be audio or video. I got a Monster HDMI ($160) and the audio (surround sound) and video both are incredible. Way better than anything else!!!

I bought two 10' HDMI cables and an HDMI to DVI adapter from Monoprice for $20.72 (including shipping) ten months ago and they all work great!
