WSI 6' Special specs?

I was trying to determine the Focal Distance of the WSI 6' Special. The parts sheet may indicate a distance of 67cm but I'm not sure. NE1 know for sure? And how would you measure it on this dish?

F= Diameter squared divided by 16x depth of the dish. So you should measure the diameter of the surface , then put a straight edge across the dish face, measure from that to center of dish to get depth. Then the math should put you very close to the FD.

Yes , Thank you. This however brings the other question I have about this dish. What is the depth supposed to be? When I assembled the segments, did they all come together correctly when I tightened the bolts? Is the parabolic shape correct? I'm not the only one who has assembled this dish and then stood back and said "HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM". I guess if I check it with the above mentioned formula and everything comes out fine, it's probably a moot point. And if I get good signal, Who cares? But HMMMMMMMMM.

It should be an even parabolic shape although if the panels are bent/warped or if the bolt are misaligned is could be mishapen. I think I "adjusted" mine a bit with the naked eye before mounting. I also understand your desire to measure but ultimately you are going to positions the lnb based upon where it peaks and not where at a calculated distance. I consider the sq I'm getting very good and with my limited testingusing a Ku lnb, signal was similar to my 1.2m dish. At some point I'm going to try and add the Ku back as a second lnb

When assembling these panel dishes, it is a good idea to bolt the panels together in pairs. Then, take the three resulting pairs to a flat, hard, level surface and assemble them face down. This assures that each panel fits together properly, with no stress that could cause misalignment. Once they are all bolted together, try to rock the upside down dish. If it won't rock, the surface should be true.

That's how it went together, face down on a concrete floor. It's flat, it's true. I guess I may have been a little touchy about it since the dish was in a train wreck during the delivery and delayed a week. When I got it there was little doubt it had had a rough ride. I little straightening of the panel edges was needed.
