Would dish still work?

Hi guys, new to the forum. I want to install this dish with model number: AU2-F1 at my second home with a standard def dvr receiver. I think this is an older model dish so my question is, would it still work? I have total choice plus, no premium channels, no HD channels.

Yes it will work, you will be able to get the 101, 110 and 119 sats with it, seeing you said you don't need HD, you'll be all set, the CORE programming from D* is on the 101 sat and thats the main one that this dish will pick up.

Awesome! Thanks Jimbo!! One other question. Is the dish connected directly to the receiver via rg6 cable or is there another device in between there? At home we have some sort of little box mounted near the dish with a few cables connected to it and coming out of it? But thats the newer dish I believe.

It would get hooked directly to the dish...no switch needed

I use the same dish here in Minnesota...SD only but my locals are on 119. Most major cities are on 101

Depends how many TV's your trying to use, in your case, you mentioned 1 recvr, I'm guessing one TV.
If thats the case, run 1 line from the LNB to the Ground block, then to the TV and your good.
Hopefully you have a ground block, most do, some vacation/cottages types don't, none the less they should have a ground on the system, but yes, go ahead and run a line to the recvr, it also doesn't matter which input you run to on the LNB.

Also that dish, Phase III, is center aligned to the 110 satellite.
