Well, I guess there will be other BD players to become region free with the PS3.

Well "MODS" always help sell devices. I have been able to "region free" all my current DVD players and 1080/component up-convert mod one all via my own self installed mod located free on the net. Not sure how they are doing these, but the prices seen rather high to me.
