I found a way to get around the home screen start-up. I set the standby timeout to off and only turn off the TV and leave the Hopper on. But since the Hopper 3 still has to shut off every night for the update, first thing in the morning it would come on at the home screen. So, set up an auto tune for some time prior to when you normally wake up (in my case it's set to auto tune to HLN (Ch202) at 5am.)

I use the same trick to push the update out a few hours since I stay up late. I set a manual timer to record a sirius channel from midnight to 4 , then I set the limit to only 3 shows to save HD space.

Internet required for Hopper and Joey Install??

Hopper 3 update?
