I miss being able to check the analog KU and C band stuff, since I got into fta tv. What kind of wiring problem is it to get digital and analog out of 2 sep systems? Here's the way I have it now. Sep 10'dish for c=band analog (Gen Instruments 650I ) + a KU-only setup using a GI550I analog. rec and 5'dish. I watch ku=fta 90% of the time anyway but I'd like to be able to see what is on c-band digital easily without unplugging the diseqc switch and plugging the cband lnb direct to my Ultra, Shutting off everything and cable-pulling is a hassle, and since I also have 3 sep primestars (fixed) run to the diseqc switch I have no more open ports to use.
Any ideas, what else to do, or switches to buy? I can do without the G10=primestar and open up a port on the diseqc I guess, G10 is fine on the bigger ku dish, but the primestar actually gets me 10 signal quality points higher than the bigger ku dish that has its own motor. And I know that the lnbs will have to go to the diseqc first since both the Ultra and the analog rec cant power the lnbs at the same time.

Best thing to do is split the C-Band line. Put a DC block on the FTA side and run that to the FTA box. SInce you have all 4 ports used you could add a 22k switch on one input of the diseqc switch

Lets see if I can do this right

C-Band---------------splitter out 1---------------analog
------------------------splitter out 2---dc block--0 k side of a 22k switch
primestar 1----------------------------------------22k side of 22 switch
22k switch---------------port 4 of Diseqc
Primestar 2---------------port 3 of Diseqc
Primestar 3---------------port 2 of Doseqc
5 foot dish---------------port 1 of Diseqc

diseqc to DVB reciever

confused?? ;)

Sounds like it could work. If I hadnt got aggravated with c/ku feedhorns tearing up, and just put up a sep KU dish a couple of years back, it would be much easier. ( never could get more than 18months out of one of those damn things-the little parts inside would break and no more ku-polarity) I'll eventually simplify all this stuff, right now I just got used to operating it all. Trying to figure out how to get c and ku, digital and analog ALL to the dvd recorder is quite complicated lol. thanks
