I have two computers with wireless adapters. One is b/g, the other is b/g/n. The n adapter is NOT dual-band. So, if I get a b/g/n router, will I be able to get n speed while the g system is active, or not? I've seen people say no, but I've also seen people say that newer routers can handle both formats at once -- BUT it was unclear whether they were talking about dual-band.

If you only have two computers why do you care if the one is N or just uses G? It is not like you will be gaining any of the performance gains out of N. I would just save you money and stick with G.

I have more computers than just the wireless ones.

Also, n routers are getting cheaper.
