Wireless Internet Connection to HD DVR?

Do I need to buy/use DTTV's Wireless Connection Kit for connecting my receiver to the internet? Could I use a wireless receiver connected to the data jack on tha back?

You only need the wireless connection kit it you can't hard wire it to your router.

BTW, are you using MRV/DECA?

According to my DVR manual. all I need to connect wirelessly is a "wireless adapter", which I can get at Micro Center for about $49. I could run some Cat-5 to the DVR, but then I'd have to drill a hole in the floor and run the cable down to the basement and connect it to my modem/wireless router. I was just trying to avoid purchasing DTV's $79 "adapter".

if you try really hard dtv will waive the 79.00 charge .they did for me

Thanks for what info? You never gave enough information to get a decent answer. None of the answers here consider whether or not you have a SWM setup. None consider if you have MRV. Without that knowledge any information you get is meaningless. When you are willing to share that information you may get something worth while in return.
