Wireless Bridge & PS3

Has anyone used a wireless bridge like the US Robotics Max G USB adapter,on their PS3?

My son would like to stop dragging his PS3 from the game room upstairs to log on for internet access?

I'm not sure the USB ports on the PS3 - or, more accurately, the software that supports them - are set up to handle something like that, although I've never tried it (I bought the 60 GB model with WiFi).
