WINK-TV, channel 11, the Fort Myers, FL CBS affiliate has been removed from DISH due to a carriage dispute. WINK is owned by the Fort Myers Broadcasting Company. The last time this happened (2 years ago) it was off for almost a year.

Yes, they brought it back supposedly because of the pandemic. Like most people, guess they have run out of patients waiting for it to be over and pulled it again. :)

I am not sure who is to blame here but that is dirty pool by turning it off the day of the Super Bowl. I am done with it. I canceled my locals today. Back to OTA.

Not only was WINK pulled but so was WANA and WXCW, which are "owned" by Sun Broadcasting (a shell corporation of Fort Myers Broadcasting, hence the quotes).

Question: If I have an existing antenna that is installed but not connected can I call DISH and have them connect it to my receivers?

There is a strong possibility you will have to pay for visit and an ota adapter. If your antenna cable is already attached to the antenna and accesible next to your Hopper3 (very old models may not have usb port), it is not hard at all. If it possible, bring a smaller tv close to this cable, connect and see how your reception is. If you are not too far, you should be able to get sub channels, too. If satisfied, order dual tuner adapter from Products | AirTV

It is still listed at $30. (Dish offers a more expensive adapter.)
Attach cable to adapter's end, and connect the adapter to hopper usb port.Use hopper's menu, scan local channels, and add the strong ones to your guide list. Some info is not available for sub channels.

???
Every model of Hopper (and Wally, for that matter) has at least one USB port, probably at least two USB ports.
Even the older ViP receivers have at least one USB port, although it is not used for the OTA adapter for those models. (The exception is the ViP211z, which does use a USB OTA adapter.)

Just for clarification, that more expensive adapter does not work any better than the $30 model. So, definitely do not waste your money getting a more expensive one from Dish.
