I have a 1000.2 with 3 lines running into a DP 44. I want to add a wing dish for 61.5, a cable from wing dish to the port # 4 of 1000.2 doesn't see the wing dish. Do I have to run a line down to the DP 44 ?

A note: you cannot predict which LNB will be used by your receiver. If you have both 129 and 61.5, then for duplicates the receiver will pick and change day to day and receiver to receiver. I used to think that 61.5 was preferred and if so you would want that only if it has a superior picture--I took my 61.5 off my WA original Dish 1000 DPP44 to prevent it from choosing that one. With the HD move to 72 most of the duplicates are gone and also the need for adding 61.5 unless your locals are there. (61.5 was left from before the bad days of 129 and wanting Voom.) Yes the original 1000 is undersized so my SS is rather low.

What is the least amount of signal needed to lock in?

Technically it can be locked at say 12 or so but that's very weak, imo a minimum of 20-25 for a solid lock is better. With that said a minimum of 45 or higher would be best for less rain fade.

If you only have a 722 and a 211 hooked up then why do you need a DPP 44 switch? If these are the only two boxes you have then remove the switch and connect wing dish to the 1000.4, run a switch test and you are done.

Apartment house setup just trying to add wing diah for football season. I'm on the edge of the spot beam to get my team in HD
