YES all sub channels for my zip code are there and even for channels I can get from Lake Charles ,Louisiana 65 miles from my area of Texas has guide information. I get their Fox station 29 and its subchannels for ABC and ION with complete guide information. But you do need to either pay for the monthly guide of $5.00 or in my case lifetime for $150.00. Otherwise you will only get 24 hr guide and no name based recording. Then it's like having a digital vcr with manual timers.
Yes it does. One quirk, normally FF through a recording shows thumbnails so you know where you are when manually skipping commercials, these thumbnails are generated after a recording is completed so when doing "chase" playback the thumbnails will not be available, you can still FF but will be guessing as to how far exactly to go.
I bought an HDHR Quatro this afternoon. Comes with 2 months free DVR service. After that, it's $35/year. I'm heavily entrenched in the HDHR/Silicondust environment, so I'm going to give it a try. I am not a fan of video transcoding of any kind, and the HDHR will pass raw video across my LAN. I can use my gaming PC as the DVR server. If that doesn't work, I'm running a custom WMC port on Windows 10 that will also pass raw video.
I can't stomach any kind of monthly fees for guide data, when I had just dumped Dish last week. Seems counter-intuitive. $35/annually seems fair to me.
Going to move the AirTV box to my office, which is 45 miles from home, and the OTA channel offerings are slightly different at that location. Never been able to watch those channels at home before, and now I can
Come to think of it, I might install an AirTV unit at my parents' house in central Ohio too. Would be nice to get local TV from back home.

The diagrams on the Silicon Dust webpage make it look a bit more complicated than the Tablo, but if you don't want any transcoding then the Tablo is definitely not for you.

Yes it operates a lot like the DISH dvrs except without the glitches suffered sometimes with the usb ota tuner. It puts all the shows in tiles with information just like DISH does. But there is no 30 second skip button , at least not on the Roku. The amazon Fire tv stick can be clicked like the sat receiver and you can see the tiles appear and stop when the show is back on . Shouldn't be an issue once the commercial auto skip is enabled next month.
Skip ahead is only 10 seconds at a time so takes a lot more button pushes but it does have the thumbnails so you can see exactly where you are in the recording. Really looking forward to seeing how the commercial auto skip works once they deploy it.
Installed the 4-tuner HD Homerun Quatro last night, which also comes with 2-months free program guide service. The program guide is 14 days and had all listings for all sub-channels. Unfortunately, my test recordings did not turn out well- there were duplicate icons in the DVR folder and the app crashed multiple times. Also, the program guide interface is clunky and strange- the listings pop-out from the right-hand side of the screen. It is not easy to navigate.
The HD Homerun Quatro also comes with a one-month free trial of Plex's premium guide service, so I might give that a try.
I am strongly leaning toward using good old Windows Media Center. It's just doggon' dependable and works.

Your right, one of the biggest benefits of the transcoding is the recording takes up much less space on the HD and it you use the capability to view your recordings across the Internet the bandwidth required is much less.
Try the Channels DVR system. It runs with the HDHomeRun devices and is head and shoulders above their DVR. I like it so much I'm using it for all my OTA stuff now. The fees are slight higher than HDHemeRuns $35 but trust me it is worth it
You can install that directly on the HDHomeRun? Or do you have to use a pc as a server? I'm not sure I like that idea.
