Hey, everybody. My Wife's Uncle and Aunt are going camping and are wanting to take one of their DirecTV receivers with them. I told the Uncle to not buy a dish because I have one. I don't know the model of receiver he has, but will this dish work with current receivers. Also, there are two coax coming out the bottom that were cut. What exactly would I need to join those two coax into one, so he can plug just one cable in the back of the receiver? Here are some pictures of the dish with three LNBs. Thanks.

And you don't need to try to merge the cables. If you have a receiver it only uses one of the cables. If you have a DVR, it uses two cables.

Thanks for all the answers, guys. One final question regarding the two cables shown in the picture. I know you said I didn't have to merge them, but does it matter which one I connect to the receiver? I'm guessing not, but figured I better ask. My Wife's Uncle had a stroke and is getting better. He was originally going to buy another dish and cable and who knows what else, so that will save him some money. I've got cable aplenty for him too, so he won't have to buy any of that as well. Thanks for all your help, guys.

If your expecting to get HD, you won't with that dish.
Iirc, that is pointing at the 101, 110 and 119 Sats, the HD stuff points at the 99, 101 and 103.
You can get SD off the 101 Sat.

Remember that when you are aligning the dish, it points at the 110 satellite.

As to what was said above, if your Uncle has a H25 or Genie receivers, the dish you posted with the LNB that it has WILL NOT WORK.

FYI;
You can also use that dish with a "normal" SL3 LNB, or a SWM-3 LNB with a power inserter, no multi-switch, to get HD on a newer receiver.

The Phase 3 dish can be tricky to aim with the HD LNB, but it can be done.

Thanks for all the posts. I emailed his Daughter and will have her look on the back to see what the model is. I looked on Ebay and I know it's not an H25, because his doesn't have an HDMI port. It could be any model, but it reminded of an SD "D12" model. I will get her answer and reply. Thanks, guys.

It should also be on a sticker behind the access card.

Or in the Menu settings

The D12 is a standard definition receiver and will work fine with that dish.
