The answer is probably not, I know...but I'm asking anyway.

I have a bad power inserter...been like that for months and it's being used without, but since its a better idea to have it, I'm going to replace it.

When I originally got the DPP44 I bought it myself. Dish would not give it as part of the install and was going to have me pay $200 for it, so instead I grabbed one off eBay for $80.

The account does have DHPP. Is it worth trying to call and ask?

Thanks. I actually just did a tech support chat and the guy set it up to do an exchange. No charge under DHPP. :D

Way off topic/newb ???

What is a DPP44 and in what kind of setup do you use it? I hear it referenced here alot, so im just curious...

and since it is a plus, you can feed the dual tuner receivers off 1 line with a DPP Separator.

Great for folks like me with a pre-wired house, and one line per tv location (Yeah, If I could have, there would have been more...).

Re: DHPP, I have had that plan for over 2 years. Sometimes I question whether it's worth it or not. But in that time I have had 2 receivers (one owned, one leased) and 2 remotes (unrelated) replaced at absolutely no additional cost. One receiver was still "in warranty" but the other was over 3 years old. Now my owned 622 is almost 2 years old and I figure the HDD could crap out at any time. I expect E* will end up replacing it at some point, and I assume it will again cost me nothing additional. So my choice is to continue with the plan. It adds $72 per year to my cost, but I think I get at least that much back in replaced equipment over time. YMMV...

I had the old $1.99 warranty, and wasn't too happy when they jacked me up to DHPP. I vowed to cancel it, but have yet to do so. This thread reminded me that I need to call them.
