Will Dish carry the Logo Network?

I have been asking Dish for it as well and the message I got from them about a month ago was that they were "in negotiations" with Viacom about Logo, but haven't heard anything since.
Best bet is to get all your friends to send Dish e-mails and flood them with requests. My guess is that they don't think enough people want it.

Been waiting for it also. I read somewhere that everyone will get it as Viacom will not give them the choice. Odd that the web site has not changed in months and the launch is just weeks away.

You were evidently reading the part about cable systems that currently carry VH-1 Megahits getting Logo - this is due to the fact that Viacom is discontinuing VH-1 Megahits & actually replacing it on their satellite feed w/Logo. HOWEVER, each cable system MUST negotiate to actually get Logo, as it is not an automatic switchover for the cable co. If they do NOT want the channel, then they will just end up loosing VH-1 MH with NO replacement channel. Insight cable here carries VH-1 MH, so it will be interesting to see what happens on July 1st.

I don't want that kind of programming for my family! Could you imagine just 20 years ago that a Homosexual orientated channel would be on TV for all viewers and age groups to watch?

It's not like this is a porn channel - anyways if you are that offended by it, block it. God forbid your precious children see reruns of Will and Grace. LOL

There are parental controls to block channels and certain programming, as well as certain ratings.

I don't want this thread to spin out of control, please be mindful of others.

Beats watching boxing on tv!

Homosexuals boxing! That's entertainment. This should be on some sort of Gay tier. I don't think I should HAVE to pay for this.

I don't think I should have to pay for MTV, or Disney.. doesn't mean I can delete them off my programming. I don't think that sectioning the Logo channel off would be wise.. could actually be discriminatory. It would be the same as me saying I don't want to expose my children to BET so it should be at a subscription only status.

Use the parental locks as they were designed to.

There are many channels that you have (which you might not want to pay for), but certain groups enjoy those channels. Teens enjoy MTV, African Americans, BET - movie buffs like HBO and SHO, and ESPN for Sport fans.

I don't think I should have to pay for all those ESPNs' but I don't have a choice.

If you can't afford less than a penny each day, get a new job.

For your information I sub to the America's Everything with HD pak and Voom. Next thing you will want a national holiday. I don't see any channels that advertise themselves for the "straight" community.

Make it a pay channel. I do not want any part of my package fees to cover it. If you want to pay for it as part of a premium service then fine and dandy. I consider it to be a foreign channel (a language I do not wish to speak).

Perhaps they need to have branched out ratings in which would indicate certain material/subjects that the program may contain so that parents can further decide what shows to block out.

That's why Tv's and satellite/cable receivers have the ability to change the channel. Don't worry. I'm sure there are plenty of Full House, Seventh Heaven, and other boredom "orientated" reruns for your family to watch. If that doesn't work, there's plenty of other good, wholesome family entertainment for your kids to grow and learn from, like the lessons in fair play and sportsmanship you see WWE, WCW, Ultimate Fighting PPV. Or, the lessons of good triumphing over evil in the most violent bloodspattered way possible on Encore Action or CSI. And, of course, the true-to-life experiences of those fine Fox reality shows, such as The Swan, Temptation Island, and The Simple Life.

Yup, we wouldn't want to see programming about people in love. Fork that ship! Fork it all to H E double-toothpicks.

Gee, I thought that's what SpikeTV does.

Well folks, the fact is that there are between 15-25 million of us out here and we aren't going anywhere! We shop where you shop, we eat where you eat, we're bankers, lawyers, judges, teachers, senators, grocery clerks, stay at home moms/dads, butchers, bakers, and probably some candlestick makers. We pay the same taxes (and actually more since there are over 1000 rights and privileges that "straight" people can have that we can't) as each and every one of you, and guess what we actually watch tv just like you.
Here we are talking about a channel that is going to be a basic cable channel that will have less sex and nudity than you basic tv soap opera, less violence than a WWE monday night Raw, and apparently offensive shows like reruns of Golden Girls and Will and Grace. Now don't get me wrong, they will also tackle issues like Marriage for EVERYONE, same sex parenting, and other issues that would appeal to the GLBT community more than your everyday straight person, but If you are hoping to find some girl on girl action, you are just going to have to turn over to Cinemax or HBO for that, because it won't be here.
For those of you who are worried about your "Families", take a look at what is being watched every week. How many of you have one or more of the movies channels? How about Spike TV? MTV? The evening news? Days of our Lives, General Hospital, or any of the other dozen or so soaps that are on every day. Each and every one of those channels will have more sex, blood, dysfunctional families, and just about everything else under the sun, but for some reason, this is all okay for your family?
We aren't asking you to accept what we do in the privacy of our bedrooms any more than you are asking us to accept what you do in yours. But we deserve the respect of who we are the same as you deserve the respect of who you are. Human Beings just trying to make our little corner of the world just a bit better. Being gay is so much more than what goes on in the bedroom, just as it is being straight is so much more than what goes on in your bedroom.
One last thing for you to think about. If Dish were to add Logo, then a lot of those people who are gay in middle america (and guess what they are there too!) and elsewhere may just sign up for dish because their cable company won't carry it. The more people that sign up and are subscribers with Dish Network, the more money Dish makes which then gives them more capital to negotiate more channels for EVERYONE!!!!! The more money they will have to send up more satellites, the more money they will have to add HD programming. The more money they will have to give more people black, white, straight, gay or whatever more of what we all want, more choices, more channels, and less expensive than what people pay for cable!
We aren't asking you to watch Logo, but we are asking for the chance for us to get to watch it.
Thanks for listening (or reading I guess).
