No, skyviewmark had it right. To make his answer complete, the other end of a single cable install would have to have a DPP switch, either a DPP Twin or DPP44.

Thank you for clarifying my answer. I didn't realize that I had left that part out.

I used to have a 721 so I know that it is Dish Pro Plus and will work on the single cable..

I would like to upgrade my HD package/receiver from my 811, but I got my 811 in the early days, and HATED the constant rebooting, unplugging, dark SD picture etc... (haven't rebooted the 811 in over 6 months now), but those early days were pitiful.
